Follow Up: Leaving but securing my bonus

OK so after MUCH debate, back and forth, thought, reading WarRoom comments....

I decided to just keep my plans on the DL and then drop the bomb after I get my check.

I had set a meeting with my CRO (my bosses boss) and my original goal was to be super open about wanting to leave and trying to do the right thing ect ect.

WELL, I decided to NOT do that and keep my mouth shut and just do my thing. So I just asked about a more definitive timeline on the check.

I had a HUGE desire to do what I think would be the RIGHT thing.....but ultimately the check is to big to risk so I'm just going to keep my mouth shut until I get it and then blind side the shit out of my team. ๐Ÿ˜‚

BUT thats what the company gets when they are not upfront and transparent.....so suck it.

You're making the right move here. Take no prisoners and have no regrets. Company loyalty is dead, and rightly so.

Honestly, take care of yourself first. Your idea of the right thing may very well have been the right thing for everyone else, just not you.

You earned that bonus and it's important to secure it, so ensuring you get it is the right thing for you.

So you are accepting the other role and plan on working both at the same time. Or are you delaying when you start for the 2nd role?

Delaying when i start until i get cash in hand. Iโ€™m upset that itโ€™s going to take so long butโ€ฆ.Iโ€™d be even more pissed if i didnโ€™t get the money.

Appreciate the follow up and am glad for your sake and wallet that you're going with A.

Besides, the fact it takes 2+ months to pay out is bonkers, <45 days is reasonable. I have a feeling you would do this anyway based on our convos: offer that support as needed during the transition (you likely won't be called once you return but hey, it's a good signal)
