Following the fuck up.

This post is about following up with prospects, not tracking your buddy from high school that got into meth and heroin and fucked up his entire life...

Prospect got pissed and hung up on you? Call them again in 6 months

Prospect showed some interest and then ghosted? Reach out every 2-3 weeks

Don't know who you should follow up with? Sort your outlook by 'Sent' and go back 3 months, call those fuckers, all of them, they might be in buying mode.

Lost a deal to the competitor? Follow up in 2 weeks anyway to make sure things are going smoothly (this is a GD PRO SALES tip because it makes you look God-tier and your comp look bad if they haven't checked in post sale (hint: they usually never do)

Sent someone a LinkedIn message or email with no response and just noticed it was like 18 months ago? FOLLOW UP.

I just can't stress this enough, especially if you're in a role with long sales cycles, you don't want to reach out daily but you should absolutely follow up on the long shots and missed connections, all the time, always.

So make the time, do it. do it now.

At the end of each month, go to your email ANS LinkedIn inbox. Review all you current convos according to this :
- archive useless/finished convos
- snooze convos you need to the appropriate amount of time for anything above 1 months
- followup with any worthwhile ongoing conversations. Do this especially on non-sales related convos (if youโ€™re a good sales, your pipeline is already up to date with the relevant task reminders set)

I do this religiously each month, itโ€™s a neat trick to build great relationships are youโ€™re following up on ยซย side convosย ยป such as that one person that you helped by recommending some potential hiring candidates (ยซย hey so how did that hiring go?ย ยป). Basically setting a bit of time to show you care!
