I had an issue like this once while I was under severance. Super nice company focusing on caregiver benefits. Really showed me the whole "no company cares about you"

They ended up laying off the entire sales team even though our pipeline was 2.5x our expectations with companies like Amazon, Disney, Google, Nike, Nasa, and several more big ones interested and heavily engaged with our company.
I posted on linkedin saying I was laid off and had HR reach out demanding I take it down or my severance won't be paid out and they will take legal action against me. Had multiple discussions with my past boss and past ceo who both said "you can say you have been separated from the company but you can't say let go that is disparaging against us.... no you weren't fired either".
There is no moral of the story, I didn't come out on top. just wanted to share since it was similar.
