The SDR pool is typically 22/23 year old recent college grads without a lot of experience who are asked by their managers to spam irrelevant or otherwise poorly created "content" to target personas. They lack the clout and experience to push back against it, so their managers and leadership deserve the scorn. If you're still putting in that kind of effort at the AE level or above, you're fair game.

Years ago, I was in the market for a tool to provide contact information, such as ZoomInfo.
I visited a particular company's webpage and it wasn't long before their sales team reached out to me. Super nice and very helpful. At the end of the project, I ended up going with another tool and I informed them of this.
They continued to call me twice a month for the next 3 years, all the while I told them the project had been completed and they can remove me from their system.
Their CEO posted something similar, basically trash talking sales people who wouldn't leave him alone. I replied saying it was an odd thing to post considering the sales people in his org were doing the exact same thing that he's complaining about.
He responds saying they don't do anything of the sort. Well, it just so happened to be that two week reminder to give me a call, because sure enough, my phone rings with "CEO's Company" as teh caller ID. I screenshot it, and post the photo as a reply with the caption of "This you?". And you know what his repsonse was??

Would genuinely like to see an example of what Peter dignifies as cold outreach if he's going to post and say he never, in his 40+ years of line (based on the hairline), has never compromised his principles.

Not a defense, but I’m an AE and I get cold emails daily. I just unsub and move on, but the types of emails are just lazy. Lazy because I’ll get outreach for products where a Quick Look at my LinkedIn would show I’m 100% not their ICP.
