Fuck this shit. Any advice?

It's been 5 months since I was laid off.

First the issue was my visa, so fucking paid 7.5K to a lawyer to fix that shit. I was getting rejections just because they don't want to sponsor me.

Now, after wasting all that money, time, companies are still fucking around.

Like son of a bitch, if you can't update your current candidates, why the hell are you even reposting the job on Linked In.

Stupid cunts in all those higher up positions,  leading these broken interview processes. Most doesn't even have the ability to ask a single fucking good question yet will manage me.

I've been interviewing with a company for the past 3 weeks.

I moved onto the next steps very smoothly. Before they even reached out to me, I reached out to hiring manager;

with a cold email
sent my website
sent a custom presentation
and sent a example cold email I would write to a client

the next day recruiter reached out and said that hiring manager was impressed so he wants to talk to me and I am the first person.

after recruiter interview, talked to hiring manager. Again, killed it.

next step, director of BD, I sent the same things with a different cold email personalized.

she loved it and I closed the interview

"is there any reason you'd not want to hire me?" she said no, she thinks I am a great fucking fit.

and then I am to speak with VP of sales.

but the guy is on fucking PTO.

okay, I get that but when is he fucking coming back? They were supposed to update me last week Friday and tell me when will be the interview.

yet all I heard, he will be back and we will lose some time over the break but will pick up asap in new year.

like how the fuck that helps?

and yesterday I see the job reposted.

Fucking dumbass has time to repost the job yet can't update a in process candidate.

I sent them an email today, saying that

I finalized 2 interviews and I need to know when would be the interview and when would they finalize a decision. I told them they are my first choice so ideally I'd like to start asap also due to financial reasons.

what do I need to do?

Sounds like a tough situation given the lay off and visa.
Think of them as a prospect, their urgency is different than yours, and seems misaligned from your expectations. While that doesn't help you in the short term, managing your emotional response to it in the long term will help your soft skills in sales.
Perhaps this PTO is for something personal on his end as well? We may not always have the full picture.
Additionally, LinkedIn does have an automatic job reposting feature that recruiters use. Given the holidays, they likely haven't updated and the repost was automated.
Good luck.

This is all correct.
@chubbybunny , I get your frustration but you need take a step back and a deep breath.
It's a new year (now), focus on controlling the controllables and make some shit happen.
Good luck, my friend

I totally agree with you. The reason for the PTO might be personal but it is their job to update candidates and ensure they have sufficient information.
Like I am fucking dedicated to the process, right? When they come 6 min late to the meeting, it is all fucking right but if I did that " Oh bad candidate" like all the rules don't work for the fuckers because they do have the power.

It is about integrity. If you tell me that, you are gonna update me last Friday about the date then do it but if you don't do it, I have no info to come up to an conclusion.
Also, I have dealt with soooo much bullshit these past 5 months, I am boiling.
Also, if they are gonna reject me for the email that I said, updating them about my process. Fuck em. It is also a sales skillset to follow up, update and keep the shit moving,

This is the shit that pisses me off. I fucking kill it in all aspects but because of the Eurpean fucking stupidness, they don't want to sponsor or looking for 3+ languages and shit.
I am truly at the edge.
I have been in this fucking cycle for the past 2,5 years. I am wondering, when am I gonna land a job at a proper fucking company.

Wowww this was aggressive as fuck!

I think everyone’s summarised it pretty well - their urgency, not yours.

They reposted the job because, like you, they want to keep their pipeline full.

Would you put all your eggs in one basket on a deal? Probably not

From your message, seems like they did update you: “wait! VP will be back soon!”

Until then, they want options.

And although this is rude as fuck to say, your financial situation is not their problem.

They’re looking for the best candidate

Could you not move to another European country if it's so hard in the Netherlands?

No because nobody wants to sponsor and I just spent 7.5K Euros to work with a lawyer to change my visa.

Keep that job pipeline full and a positive mindset as much as you can. I know easier said than done but try and keep busy throughout the job search with other stuff as well!

TheDude is right in that their urgency is not yours - and try not to let that affect your dealings with them. It's ok to be hostile here, but I hope you are professional and patient with them.
The job posting may be automatic, who knows.
You're still in process - and something should happen after the new year. Holidays mess with a lot of things. It's hard to wait, but no choice.
Do you have other jobs in process?

Agree with a lot of the sentiment here. I can empathize with you situation, it’s real fucking tough to be short on time and your prospect is not on that same timeline. Just spent the last 365 days in that kinda bullshit.

The two things that kept me sane here was putting my energy into continuing to advance the process, no matter how small or insignificant that advance was. So don’t let go of your “aggression”, BUT you gotta temper that aggression with trying to understand all angles of this thing.

The second thing is: Always Assume Positive Intent. That shit will save you from the oblivion that is misaligned timeline/ urgency.

There is almost always a good and rational reason why this isn’t hitting your timeline. The sooner you can accept that the sooner this will feel like there’s light at the end of the tunnel.

This shit is gonna work out big dog. Keep pushing but remember, they ain’t out to get you or keep you down.

Do you have an example you would share with us on how you wrote to a hiring manager, to seem calm and excited, and interested? While, inside you were freaking out?

In my case I was dealing with a large deal that I had gone all in on last January. If I didn’t bag this deal, I’d end the year with a big fuckin goose egg.

That being said, you’ve gotta try and keep your cool and not fuck this up by being too aggressive or pushing too hard

Good advice from from others here.
Employers are like prospects they work on their priorities first.
3-4 weeks isn't long from a companies perspective.
Keep your search going. Let them reach out to you next.

I've been at companies where positions were open for months where management kept putting off interviewing candidates.

Dang, that’s rough - I feel you, friend. These fuckers are one million percent dicking around and not understanding how tough it is from the candidate perspective.

For what it’s worth, don’t fret about the job being reposted. Sometimes this is just because paid posts allow for a certain number of reposts of the same job, or it was set automatically repost after some time.

Keep on them. Be in their inbox regularly and hold them to account. 🔥🔥

It sounds like they’re falling short of your expectations in a lot of ways. You can take a step back, take all the great advice into account and be patient, or if you truly believe that they are yanking you around, move on to the next company because based on how fired up you are, it seems like it will be tough for you to work with them if they hire you and you already have so much resentment to them.

Sounds like your boundaries are being crossed, yet you’re still chasing them.

Maybe like @anchorpoint said, be aware and walk away.

I am in a similar situation. One of the things I've learned is that the interview process is a lot like a sales call. The super positive prospect is always the most dangerous.
I found out about an unposted job from my old manager and sent a cold email to their BD director. Crushed two interviews on back-to-back days and left their hiring process feeling good. Their BD told me that I was a great fit and they'd be making an offer just before Christmas. Their HR team was out until after boxing day, but that week came and went so I reached out and was reassured that an offer was on the way. Almost a month since I was told an offer was coming, and they have ghosted me.
The moral of the story, I let my guard down because I assumed they would do what they said. Keep your head down and keep working on getting a job, you'll be just fine.
