Love or hate Elon is takes some brass cojones to tell the people you are selling to (advertisers in this case) GFY I will not be black mailed by money. Probably helps when you are the richest man in the world but nevertheless. The 1st amendment of the U.S constitution has a lot of wisdom in it and I appreciate seeing people stand up for it. The First Amendment has very little to do with a private company and whether or not brands choose to advertise on it. It's amazing to me how many still do not understand that freedom of speech does not protect one from the consequences of that speech, especially in an open market.
In fact, one could say that those companies are exercising their own right to freedom of speech, and they've decided to invest it elsewhere.

I completely agree that there are consequences for free speech and the free market will settle stupid speech. That said, the Twitter files showed a private organization was being heavily influenced to limit free speech by the government tasked with protecting the amendments of our constitution. So I saw this relating to free speech. However, your point about the market serving proper consequences is spot on and something I could not agree with more.

Remember when he publicly fired that guy over twitter, and said he was lazy? The guy turned out to have a severe medical condition, but also had an insane employment contract after twitter bought out his company? Not only was it wildly immature, but showed that elon was incapable of doing 2 minutes of research to find out who the guy was.
