Has the war room impacted your performance?

Hey all, it's me again, I see many of you guys are posting consistently throughout the day. I was just curious if it is hindering anyone's performance? I know I have spent the majority of my day (second day in WR) cultivating ideas for posts that will please the masses.

What do you WR vets do to effectively manage your time between fun and work?

I have screen time limits for nearly all apps at an hour a day. Once it hits that, I tap the snooze for 15 minute button or whatever and take that time to disconnect. Then it’s back to it until my next visit. Sometimes I kill downtime between meetings on the web version. Can’t say it stops me from getting my work done.

Solid advice here. I also reward myself with small breaks when I hit goals on my daily to-do list.

I normally jump in during breaks/lunch and during internal enablement calls. So far, I have been able to manage both exceeding my number and using the WR. Seems to be the same skill as using any other social media platform in moderation during the day (IG, FB, LI, etc).

I do know that there have been some posts in here that actually helped my performance, there were some really good tips that I was able to directly apply to my job. So if anything the WR has helped?

Ahh, this makes perfect sense. I don't have any other social media platforms so I am not used to the distractions that come along with them.

Is it worth it to get an IG as 29 year old or have I missed the wave?

Ehhh I guess it depends on your personal preference. I am the type of person who really values experiences vs things, so I never really got caught up in the IG Influencer train, I only follow a few meme accounts and then the rest are like outdoor pages and athletes.

Some people I know though use and post on IG every day.

Are you missing anything by not having it though? Absolutely not.

I've learned way more than I expected from the WR. It can definitely be a rabbit hole if I'm not careful but between the comedy and the insightful sales strategies shared here its a + for me for performance.

Honestly some posts that are actually helpful make me more engaged in my workday. Like stated before pointless meaningless posts from certain people might hinder my performance

Time management is key here. I outline every day with tasks and break them down into levels of importance and then I make time blocks on my calendar for those tasks. I am generally able to accomplish everything I need to in the day while still perusing the WR.

That being said, there are some days where I totally waste too much time on here but at the end of the day I'm on track to hit my numbers.

Some weeks are better than others. Really just depends on if I have legit questions, free time, or if my pipe is drier than my girlfriend after I splurge on Mexican food

For me it is half positive/informative posts that motivate me, half are jokes that make me laugh and relax. Also nice to share wins and get some pats on the back that are missing in the WFH situation.

Well I'm coasting right now, so I have the time. Once I start in my new firm, I don't think I'll be here as much but who knows.

It's definitely made the day go by faster and I've learned a lot/gained a lot of valuable insight in the last like four days of being on it. However, there are a handful of "unspoken rules" (which comes with any Internet forum/app) that we all need to get accustomed to in order for this to be truly effective. There's a lot of good forums on toxicity in here that have made me thankful for those that do lay down the laws to understand where they're coming from with some of the comments and annoyance.

I use it to unwind and see what tools people are using and impart my marginal wisdom where I can. This is a great group of people so there isn’t a wad of shit to sift through compared to other social media.

Tbh the War Room has made me sharper, recalibrated my bullshit meter, and let me know that many others share my thoughts.

I found some good breakup emails and some of the shit posts cheer me up which has been a net positive I think.

I'm active right before work, when ever I've made a lot of progress in work and right after. If I'm really busy I won't log in, it's important to give the job priority after all

Pretty simple. If I have work to do, I won’t be on here!
