Home remodeling DIY. My home was built in 1894. My wife is the designer-in-chief. I'm just the bank and free labor.
Nice! Mine was built in 1885. Thankfully mostly renovated before we bought it but thereโs always something.
Hopefully your remodel(s) were done properly. The last remodel of ours before we bought it in 2003 was done in the 1960's. A couple of years ago I gutted our bathroom, had to remove 6 different floorings, all installed one on top of another. Three tiles, two linoleum and the original wood plank floor. And of course, everything in these older homes is <<sarcasm font ON>> square, plumb and level <<sarcasm font OFF>>
Oh shit. Mine were all done in the last 5 years or so. A few shortcuts, might have to tear up the bathroom floor but might not have to. (Not using the tub atm).
The house had its roof done recently but they didnโt do the addition, so just dropped $3k on that. And we found out why the dishwasher was listed โas-isโ (all other appliances brand new). So that was another grand.
My next few things to do are plane the top of the French doors to our living room (ooh La La), install a new chandelier thing in the dining room, and change out two faucets.
Half the basement lights just stopped working so I probably have to call an electrician for thatโฆ (worked during the inspection but of course not when we moved in during September ๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ)
