How do you get hired quickly as SDR?

I would say I have 0 formal experience as a rep but I have performed some tasks like cold calling while we were working on a startup idea back in India. I am currently in Canada and looking for SDR jobs as I think that's the best entry-level job option with remote work and good pay in the future.

I got some interviews and fell short in the last round which was either a presentation/cold call. I did get some good feedback from the calls but haven't been able to get many interviews.

Recently finished Bravado Tech Sales U and Ramped Careers - SDR Training.

Any tips on how to get more interviews?

Right now? IDK if there is a "quick" right now.

It's great that you have that 'academy' experience, it does give you some differentiation versus someone coming in 'off the street' looking for an SDR role outright.

My biggest question to you would be... are you putting your cold-calling/prospecting skills to use when you are looking for jobs? If you're looking to be in a job where the whole thing revolves getting someone's attention in the first communication, are you applying that to your job search?

A few quick tips from my end:

1. Make sure each application submission you do is tailored for that role and company specifically. For example, if they ask that you upload a resume and/or cover letter, edit it so that it reflects that company, instead of a generic one you use for each. In your resume, put a little paragraph at the top about how you would bring value to this particular company.

2. How are you standing out? Most companies (I've hired at medium and huge companies) use a whole litany of digital screening tools, then human screeners before it even gets to the hiring manager. I can't remember 95% of the resumes I've looked at. So, how are you standing out?

3. As you are applying to something, make sure you are lighting up parallel tracks. For example, after you put in an application, reach out to any recruiters from the company you can find, and very politely, succinctly message that you'd be interested in working for their company (and why). Put yourself in their shoes, and think what you would want to see that is worth your busy time as a recruiter that would make you read the message or reply.

I think I am going to be more active with my job search. Initially, I did some sprints of talking to employees/HR on LinkedIn, sending an email etc. but I ended it when I started landing some interviews. Need to keep my pipeline in place.

Tough time of year for "quick".

My advice - send in the resume and then follow up with phone calls. Use LI to identify hiring managers and decision makers. Treat it like you're hunting for the sale (which you are!).

if you dont have experience then there is no quick way.

keep trying to land interviews, every time you get feedback try to improve on the area's they suggest. and go to the next one.

Good, but is it well formatted? Can you upload anonymous version?

There are many SDR groups on linkedin where a lot of job postings happen everyday. Try it now.

Go to Apollo.AI

sign up for a free trial. decide if you can afford to pay monthly for it after using and if that plan would actually work for you. If not, create new email, try free trial again.

letโ€™s say I was looking to work at X for mister douche. I might do the following.

get their email.
get their phone number (if subscribed)
Put them on a sequence.

personalized email, phone call, LI connect with personal message, repeat steps for 3-5 days straight. Repeat the next week.

touch them on every single platform they exist on. LinkedIn, good reads, Pinterest, their local hobby store, anywhere and everywhere.

donโ€™t forget to use LinkedIn or you can use randomly different softwares and Google plugins to send voice recordings as well as video messages too.

Sdr expectations are really over the top and dumb, but people want this.

donโ€™t forget to connect with at least 20 people on LI per day. Make it seem like you are very active socially.

There's no guarantee that anything will be quick. You're going to have to continue to go after roles, and refine your skills based on the feedback you've gotten. Diablo had a great suggestion on where to look for positions.

I don't think there's ever a quick way to get hired. Companies are methodical for a reason. They want to make sure it's a good fit. The only time a hiring process goes quickly are at really small companies. Less than 10 employees.

+1. With all the firing and freezing and layoffs, even more difficult.

Always go through a recruiter. Work with Bravado Flex as well. Could potentially be a good way to get started "quickly".

I would talk about how you aren't afraid to make cold calls and you can also message directly the hiring managers which shows you have the effort to do the job.
