I find it’s most effective to engage with people on their posts to get into a conversation.

I usually tend to shy away from that because I either fear arguing with people online or incase I agree I feel that I have nothing to contribute.

There seems to be general agreement that linking to other content in your own posts is heavily disfavored by LI. Better practice might be to summarize and add value with your own perspective and then link in comments.

@pitchandputt - or you can now post it and go back and edit it adding the link to not be dinged by the algorithm

I share insights, our company PRs if I think they’re useful, and I like and promote my customers’ stuff to try and support them. I also use LinkedIn Navigator to research and build org charts on prospects. I leave the actual prospecting and InMail messaging to my BDR though.

My director of sales is very old school and has yet to embrace social selling. We have a great brand manager/content strategist at our company but he is very limited with what he's allowed to create because of managements old school views

Is there anything that would change their minds? Curious as this is something I’m exploring.

I haven't found it yet. At least nothing that has changed their mind dramatically. Their current stance is to let our content strategist to experiment a bit as long they accomplish their core assignments

Our ICP is different, so we use Twitter, now CH, for social selling. LinkedIn has never been a good channel for us.

Understood. When I do projects with CIOs and CTOs I always find them active on Twitter as opposed to LinkedIn where there resume may live.

I spend a fair amount of time on LinkedIn. I share a lot of relevant content and like posts of prospects. You can follow industry hashtags to find content to share if you're struggling.

Just recently had a prospect agree to a meeting with the comment that all of the content I share on LinkedIn has been helpful to them.

I make a connection request for every prospect. It's step 1 in every one of my Salesloft cadences. I have a "cadence" I wrote out to  follow for having LinkedIn chat conversations when they accept my invite, as I've heard its best not to jump right into a pitch..... but I've recently transitioned to use LinkedIn voicemails and am finding them to be great in prompting replies

2% and ideally much less...anything more is a waste of time (depending on what you are selling there are exceptions)

A lot. Inmail response rate > email. Big fan. Think about ways to make it easier...if you're asking for a colleague, draft a short intro on their behalf so they can just fwd it over. Make it hard for them to say no.

Not a silver bullet, but there's so much noise around everything, I think it's important to use as many 'rich' channels as possible if you can do so efficiently.
