I’m 99% convinced AI will take over our jobs coming from a college student

Since Open AI has come out, I have used 95 percent of my home/quizzes/tests with AI. It can do 80-90 percent of it but fails to do calculations. Not only that, but voice changers are becoming so accurate with the new Drake song. I know sales is a human-to-human interaction, but soon they will be able to entirely do cold calls with a bunch of data they have trying lines that work the best/worst. People honestly find other humans annoying since it takes a lot of time to reach a point, but AI gets there in .01 seconds, and there is no need for a long pipeline. In all honesty, in the next 15 yrs, new grads won't have jobs. I'm in a career crisis right now cause I am confident that AI will take over. I really hope I get to a VP/ Director level b4 this affects me. Im honestly scared and feel like I have to save all my money just in case this happens. I hope neurolink can save me but it's so early in the process. anyways thanks for reading my rant

No buyer would to go through a process completely from an AI bot imo. It's going to be okay lol. Maybe we'll see a drop in BDR roles over the next couple of years bc outreach is getting more and more automated but I also think Outlook and Gmail are going to try and get ahead of that to stop "customized spam." So ultimately my point being picking up the phone and calling a prospect will never go away.

Honest rant, but here’s the phrase that pays: You won’t be replaced by AI. But your company will be replaced by one that uses it. It’s going to be decades before humans trust both the data and the machine that derives insights from it. No chance you’re out of a job before you get one.

saying new grads wont have jobs is doom and gloom.

they will not have the same jobs new grads have today.

but there will be new ones that are created.

People like to buy from someone that they can yell at and ruin their day when something goes wrong. Yelling at an AI doesn’t give them that same high.

No way,at least you couldn't prevent the other prospects particularly seniors and non tech savvy persons from getting to a human sales rep when seeking assurance and a better understanding of the product and the contract terms if needed!

People concerned about AI taking over their jobs is clear indicator they are replaceable and deliver little value. Reading from a script doesn’t make you a good sales person. Cold calling endlessly doesn’t make you a good sales person….

If you really think AI can replace you, take a long hard look in the mirror and hopefully you’ll come to the same conclusion I have about “your worth.”

People said the same thing about computers/internet/manufacturing. They all created more jobs. the labor simply shifted.

AI will take over menial tasks. We will need fewer people for white collar jobs, but actual sales and implementation where people need to be convinced will require real people.

Some things maybe, but there will always be jobs and products they will require human support, especially if humans will be using it.

I don't see this realistically happening for another 15-20 years when the dataset is even more extensive and more companies are willing to take on the risk of having an AI make critical decisions. Anything involving sales is going to have to have a human component attached to it. From how I've seen it applied in my current industry... it's used to create a base template or an educated suggestion and from there, you tweak edit/modify it to your heart's content.

Humans want to speak to other humans. We're pretty far away from Ai completely replacing sales. You should start using AI tools and see how the can help you become a better seller.

My mind kept going back to “coming from a college student” with every sentence here.

You’re clearly smart. Thinking ahead..maybe too far.

Get in the mix post-college. You’re gonna get kicked in the head (also win) with shit totally unrelated to any of this.

Have confidence that you are enabled with AI as tool while us geezers are debating its validity.

I think AI bot... Sure will get the customer info on product. Will it do all the admin like update next steps and navigate between tools and find alternatives and prospect. Don't think so?
