I’m a woman. I have yet to see a good sales leader that is female. Why?

Good sales leaders are hard to come by in general. Women are rare in sales. If you're looking for a good sales leader that's also a woman your pool is pretty damn narrow.

I also think men are more naturally attracted to leadership roles, so they're more likely to apply for management positions.

One of my old bosses is an amazing female sales leader. They certainly exist, but are more difficult to come by as there are more men in sales.

I'm guessing you just made this post for the reactions, not as a serious question? Cause I know a lot of good female sales leaders and from reading the posts, most other people do too

There's about 1.5M reasons why that could be the case. My boss is the most badass sales leader I've ever worked for. I love working for her. Push your sales org leadership to focus on equity & belonging, and encourage women around you to apply for leadership, act as if, and do the daily work. Network so hard within your company so you become the person they want to lead their sales team.

The best bosses I’ve ever had have been woman.

I haven’t had a female VP/SD so can’t comment on that level.

there must be some great female leaders out there, but they will be fighting against many stereotypes.

as a women, why do you think it is @Finesy?

My old Director was a female sales leader, and one of the best leaders I've ever had. Still an amazing mentor to me.

Likely just the numbers in it. Their are just fewer women sales leaders in general, so when you have 1/3 of them that are good its a really small number. I'd say there is a far greater % of poor male sales leaders than female.

I haven’t had any sales leaders that were female. Kind weird now that I think about it...

One of my best managers who helped me get through being an SDR and into my first AE role was a woman. She was firm but still had a sense of humor and was like an office mother to us SDR's fresh out of college.

The rationale being that they can teach the average reps their magic ways, but in reality, as a manager they just end up getting mad that the reps can't "do what I did" and think "I can do it better".

The push and stretch limits women in leadership at sales and the nature of the role might not be interesting for many
