Advice for interview?

I have an interview with a scale-up.

I've been in sales for the past almost 5 years. I was an Account Executive, SDR, BDR and now back to being SDR again.

Funny.

Some of you may know, it has been quite tough for me. Although I was a top performer at every comp I worked at, this shit storm seems to be following me.

It's a big hit going back to being an SDR-BDR but I have to work.

The past 4 months, I was looking for a job and wasn't lucky because in Netherlands, there is a min salary criteria and none of the offers met that requirement and also due to my visa, I was not allowed to work at retail jobs.

Now, speaking with this company:

They told me that they don't have enough budget so they share 1 Lusha account with 12 sales team members.

Like what the fuck?

Since I got my visa changed, I can work at retail jobs. I don't want to put shit on my resume and it doesn't make sense to join an organisation where they will set me up for success with dumb shit like that.

Should I work in retail until I get a good position or it's better to have a shitty sales experience on my resume rather than a long break and a retail role.

Why must you include absolutely every job you've had on your resume? A resume tells your story. Let it tell the story you want it to. Stretch your employment dates. Massage titles. Make it work for you. Otherwise... go where you can earn enough to support yourself and those who count on you.

I generally feel bad when I am quitting a job. Like if I take this job, I’d work there max 3 months or so and when I try to quit, I feel like an asshole.

But you are right, whatever is the right choice you take care of my family.

Glad you were able to fix your visa so you can stay in the country.

Work the job you need to work in order to provide, and keep looking for that good sales job. How did the interview you asked about earlier go?

Thank you so much! I think I will pass on this sales job and get a retail job until a good opp comes up.
The interview I asked about earlier went great. The question was from the assignment they gave me for next steps. I sent it over and waiting for their response.
They shared it with the whole hiring team.
It is a founding AE role within a small company.
Even though I don't have a lot of closing experience, I think I can handle it so let's see if they continue.
Thanks for asking!

Good luck! Always take care of yourself first, and don't feel bad it. Omit roles where needed. @oldcloser is totally right - you control the story it tells.
We're rooting for you @chubbybunny !

You don’t need to put every job on there, I was in a similar situation this past summer and did some side hustles still in sales tho but 3 different jobs in one summer. On my resume I just put professional development on resume and explained that I wasn’t able to get with a good company so I just started trying different things to find out what Industry and role I liked to figure out what I want to do with my life and I learned XYZ.
