Who hasn't? My favorite is completely hosing their name - "Hi Mark" instead of "Hi Mike" when I just don't catch it and then have to email them seconds later to apologize.

Flew to see a prospect. Travel budget approved. Only way to get this deal done was face-to-face. My infinite wisdom told me. I just couldnโ€™t get him to sit still long enough. Needed to be there. Get to the call and heโ€™s not there. He shows up an hour late and unshaven, smelled of last nights booze, clearly hungover and in moderate pain. I ignore the stanky elephant in the room and start in. Dude gets up after 20 minutes. Says โ€œI gotta take a dump.โ€ Boss called-I send it to voicemail while Iโ€™m waiting. Still waiting - I send an email to boss describing all of it with some flowery language.

Prospect comes back. Reads it. GTFO!

Yeah- sent it yo the wrong guy.

One time I meant to follow up with a prospect, accidentally sent them a blank email replying to my own. They responded with available times lol.

Do you have the setting on that lets you cancel sending for up to 30 seconds?

I once emailed -

โ€œsend me your EGOโ€ instead of โ€œsend me your RFPโ€

check the location of these alphabets on qwerty, youโ€™ll know how it happened

I have written up whole emails, thought I sent them, but they sat in drafts folder for days instead

The best is when I follow up on an email I thought I sent asking what they thought of my proposal they never received lol

The older I get, the longer those drafts stay drafts.

That's happened to me, and I've sent a seperate follow up email that says "hey, don't want to rush you and I know you have a lot on your plate, but thoughts on my last email? "

My best story is CC'ing the prospect on the forwarded email to my team letting them know I recorded the call for training purposes and wanted to share.

Which, is technically illegal since I didn't disclose. But I like to record my calls to ensure my notes are accurate (healthcare med device, lot of moving parts).

He took it in stride and appreciated the thoroughness. Won that deal.

One time I sent a picture of some collateral to a prospect. It was quite large so I had to lay it on the floor to capture the whole thing. My big toe was in frame....only realized this after I texted the image to the guy. I have very gross toes.

Yeah, I got no response for that one
