Looking for mentor

Hello,

I've been on the jobseekers journey for more than a year now.I believe that having little to no sales experience has played a big part in all rejections.
I keep getting stuck on the Role play or Case study part of the interview process.
I just wanted some guidance regarding what I can improve?

Would anyone here be able to provide some guidance?

not having sales experience means its going to be tough to role play a sales call. You simply don't have anything to base it on.
Personally, I would suggest you get an entry level sales job and learn the ropes - door to door sales is great or a job as a BDR/SDR. Those jobs jobs know you are entry level and will train you up.

Agreed - sounds like you'll have to work your way up.

Not having experience is tough, is there anything you've done that didn't have an official sales title but could be related?
For the role play part, check out Tech Sales U here at Bravado, I haven't done it but I hear good things. Then next time you have an interview (or practice with a friend) record and review it! You can even practice with AI. When I started doing this I noticed so many bad traits in my speech and facial expressions that I never knew were there.

Reviewing and critiquing your own calls is an undervalued practice in sales.

I’m not a professional bowler. I can’t seem to win a PBA tournament.

Practice, homie. Practice.

I think this is something that we should more of, practice in the role, but I worry it backfiring. What can you sell without a job selling? On the interview and applying for jobs front, I find that there are just too many gatekeepers to get anything through now, unless you already check the boxes.

Now, I am a firm believer in the networking approach. Getting intros makes the hunt so much easier. I find that creating the relationship also helps on the sales front. If ANYONE in the war room is looking for networking opportunities, I’m happy to meet them out at a conference or meet-up (in NYC, so we can make it work).

Can you be more specific when you say “stuck on the role play or case study part”. We need to know exactly what that means to offer any solid advice.

Pretty awesome that you’re getting interviews, though! I’d say keep it up.

I’m in a similar boat but I can’t even get an interview — yet!
