My first ever cold calls!

I called four people today, which is four more than I have ever called out of the blue before. Zero picked up so it doesn't totally feel like an awesome use of time. (but I'm aware four is a miniscule number compared to what a lot of you are doing in a given hour, much less a whole day).

I had two lists, one of them ended up all being corporate lines (not individuals) so I didn't end up calling anyone after I realized that. Are there ways to access people's *actual* cell phones with reliability?

im impressed you got to director without making cold calls haha!

And you can use zoominfo or any other database and they will have cell numbers/direct lines. its never 100% accurate but its helpful.

I was employee number 2 so just sort of picked 'director' out of thin air, and didn't come from any sort of sales background.

Email and referrals have been our best bets so far - i really assumed people just don't cold call any more until I started poking around on this forum a few weeks ago.

On corporate lines, take advantage of the directory feature to get to your target.

LeadIQ, Zoominfo and Lusha. Depending on the market : APAC, US and EU.
Good luck ! I like LeadIQ more, it's more reliable in my case.

you mean gaining people's confidence so they share their colleague's/friends contact info with you?

no judgement btw - you do you, just tryna understand what you mean

Its the game we all play. I just play it well. And yes, it means calling a switch board or mis-calling on purpose and getting the right person's name/phone/email/ssn/mother's maiden name...

Try to ask your manager for alternative numbers, if it's a famous company and you wanna reach a managerial position there, try to google his name and his number, that's what I see.

I personally enjoy calling the corporate. You can get them on your side and convince them you are calling someone back. Play it dumb and be like he didnโ€™t annunciate his name well, maybe you can help. Then ask her for the number in case something happens. Itโ€™s all in how you come off to the gate keeper.
