My take on the AMA with Sahil.

not that anyone asked....but I just had a chance to watch the live stream he did and had a few take aways.

First, love that it was pretty much a 1 on 1 with @CuriousFox for a while 😂

  • over all im super impressed with @sahil coming out and talking openly to everyone, and making the whole recording available. I think that is a great way to keep transparency.

  • It really does seem like the roll out of the non anonymous functionality was just miss handled and that ill intent many of us feared is NOT the case.

  • I also like how Sahil was visually frustrated at times haha. not because I wanted him to get upset but I like to see that leaders have real emotions and its clear that he understands that there was a miscommunication and how annoying that is.

  • Thanks for answering my questions about the lay offs at Bravado. To hear that story of losing rev., then getting it back, and then losing everything again was crazy to hear!

After hearing this I am starting to come around on the who non anonymous (i think there is a better word for that but idk what it is) part of the WR.

I like that Sahil sees this as a way for people to make more money, get hired, get side gigs because of the thoughts they share here.

So i am curious if the poll gets released on SHOULD that functionality stay, what everyone will vote.

EDIT: i forgot to mention how INSANELY HIGH the numbers of ppl who read the war room are. its crazy that sooooo many ppl seem to read the content but most posts have between 15 - 30 engagements. w

Still very much against.

The only public posts that have been made in the last week are recycled LinkedIn crap.

Still no answers on how to delete public information.
I don't trust bravado to keep my data safe.
Sorry...

fair enough. the post made by public ppl have been not great haha.

one thing that was an eye opener was that the public profile has ALWAYS been there and was created when you created your WR profile.

i do not think i realized this or just overlooked it and i bet a ton of other ppl did too.

Yeah, not to knock anybody who is trying to engage and just gets it wrong, but the recent ones have been literally LI, not asking a question and/or opening a conversation, which is what I thought we were building here.

I've commented once as myself because it was directly relevant to my expertise and I thought that it would lend credence to what I had to say. I can appreciate the option.

The only public profile engagement I've seen so far has been from completely new people who haven't "read the room" and just come in here to spout off on a soapbox. I haven't seen an uptick in engagement or contributions to ongoing discussions outside of the posts they start.

the lack of engagement is insane now that i know how many ppl apparently read the wr on a weekly basis.

posts get between 15 - 30 engagements when there are like hundreds of thousands of ppl reading the content, that is just so insane.

Did he say how many people read it? I get the feeling there's a lot of zombie accounts.

yeah id have to go back and look but i think he said the number of ppl reading war room every week is in the hundreds of thousands. which seems SO HIGH for the amount of engagement we have here

I’m very surprised as well, hundreds of thousands?? I need to see it to believe it tbh. It seems that it’s always the same people that are posting and commenting. But let’s say that just 0.5-1% of the 100k people make a comment or post, that’s about 500-1k people active on the platform weekly. I’ve not seen that but that could be just me 🤷🏻‍♀️

So why is there so little actual engagement?
Are all the questions answered satisfactorily? Are people afraid to post? Are they not interested in engaging? I'm really, really curious.

What was he visually frustrated about that you liked?

Nothing has changed. Nothing has been answered or fixed.

My take on it is such: I am here on my own free will and choose to engage as such. I am trusting that my public information won't be shared unless I choose to do so. There's bigger worries in my life than pretty much anything I have said here.

You cannot trust it bb. Communication is severely lacking until we raise enough hell to get attention.

Look, he is using the forum to create a market so he can source sales people easier. That way, there is a premium to just posting on LinkedIn or going through one’s own network. I get it. We just have to understand that we are the product and I can see the perks (read: commission store) becoming almost useless.

but can he source sales ppl easier? the war room does not seem to make it easier for him to hire ppl.

That’s the end goal. so if he can’t, then the project needs to pivot. Maybe training?

As long as we continue to not have any affiliation from the WR profile to the non-anonymous, I am fine with it.

If people want to dox themselves, I don't see how that hurts me.

And no matter what, Bravado knows who I am. When creating this account I put my email and LinkedIn account, which allows them to easily track who I am.

The point is folks may dox unintentionally. For example, when writing this response my public profile was defaulted when it should not have been.

But they aren't linked on the end user side from what I understand. So you could be Jenny from sales and we wouldn't know you're the fox. Did I misinterpret that? Honest question

There are some where it might be obvious, say a Jenny Smith does a Fox gif, I might be able to guess, who is behind the post.
However how many people could probably be able to match the two profiles or even see the "Jenny Smith" post before it would get deleted.
Even more so the likely hood of it being someone that knows the real you or can impact your career in anyway is low.
I am personally more nervous about the win wire information gets released than anything else

Good write-up Tennis.

The option to completely opt-out of public needs to happen. That keeps a lot of contributing members happy and engaged.

here for the anonymity and quality of posts. reddit sales used to have some gems and legit posters back in 2015/2015... but it's awash with bdrs posting basic questions and doing no homework. this was a breath of fresh air and especially saw some high quality tactics/strategy/advice for people who are not fresh out of undergrad.
already guarded about what i post and when - like deals because i know others, especially juniors in the org. are here and don't trust them to wipe their own ass much less not "spill the tea" if they were to put two and two
