Straight commission but I got 50% ($1) of every chocolate bar I sold! Figured out that people were sympathetic when the weather was bad, so I’d wait for rainy days and put on the worst jacket I had. Paid for my trip to the jazz festival in Idaho plus spending money 3 years in a row. Sometimes I wonder if I could go back to selling Hershey’s door to door…

You deleted the other post after revising it to seem like you’re just a normal dude. The first one was honest. Gonna keep an eye on you.

calling @CuriousFox Attn fox, come in fox: We've got a possible imposter: Tobiaz has burned up upon entry. Psycho post, followed by revise-and-delete. Now, a handle change.

Another classic WR race to save face. Drop a tracking pixel on this one. Possible @Sunbunny31 alert. No. Check that. Call the bunny. I’ll watch the exits.

Not exactly a sales job, but it was at Baskin-Robbins, making $2.65 an hour. Not good unless one is ambidextrous if you know what I'm sayin'... 💪

Before the dotcom crash and working at a tech company I routinely rode my bicycle to. Made some great friends and learned a lot.

First sales job out of college was fun. Inside sales, made a little money, and didn’t have to take my work home with me yet.

First sales job...in high school I was selling at GameStop and a musical instrument store. But the first real sales job was probably selling for an authorized AT&T reseller and it was...NOT GOOD kiddos greasy and shady as fuck. On the bright side one of the locations had multiples murders in the lot next door...

It was terrible but I enjoyed it lol. Good people, and I moved up quickly.
BUT toxic AF at times. And didn't pay nearly enough, but seemed good for the time.
That was B2B. Retail in high school was AWESOME

Street sales standing on NYC sidewalks slinging non profit subscriptions. Wild, wild job. Crazy people - had someone take a swing at me once, had a billionaire (“Linen King of NYC” you can look him up) who was on trial donate to me, broke people down to tears.

Sometimes the weather was so cold that our boss would bring hand warmers and we would put them in our shoes and underwear. Not the best conditions but really taught ya how to sell.

Would recommend to anyone who wants to get started in sales, or even improve their confidence in general, to do street sales for a few months.

Commission only in an industry I didn't care for, but taught me the skills I needed to jump ship.

Needed a job out of college and had no idea what to do, was not expecting sales to be what it was… but ended up kinda liking it and found a product now that I love!

The year was 2011 and I was selling commercial printing services in a small family shop. It was mostly inbound, but the funnel was good. Owners were cheap, but I learned a lot about production margins and managerial accounting. Also, met some good people I'm still friends with! Found the job in the classifieds section 😂 super sketch but everything worked out.

Job fair. Two days after moving to a new state with $300 in my bank account. Met the new director of sales. We interviewed after hours at a restaurant and just shot the shit. Started a month later.

Learned a lot from him personally and professionally. Still reflecting on what he taught me over eight years ago.

Man my first sales job was slinging house and car insurance in Australia. Those SOPS we're locked in.
You'd be using a computer with just a terminal interface and some sloppy webpage client.
But the autodialler was insane, easy 75+ Conversations per day, really made you slick on the phone. I look back fondly on those days
