Quota Ramp for Promotion

Pretty simple one here. Up for a promotion to an Enterprise Role and curious as to whether you guys see/expect a ramp into the new quota given that it's a new territory, or if it's full boat right out of the gate. Minimal pipeline carryover allowed for context.

Normally yes expect something but it honestly depends on your company. Helpful, I know. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Depends - are you inheriting customers or open opps?

How large of a jump are you seeing in quota?

What's the differentiator between MM and Enterprise for your org? Employee headcount? Annual Rev?

All great questions Beans:
- No visibility into open opps yet, open headcount is 2 so not 100% clear on which territory I'll be walking into. It's all new business so no existing customer upsells in play
- $750k > $1M (I think, still in final stages)
- Annual Rev

Okay.

So I made the jump to Enterprise as of January - I was given one quarter to close my open opps as they transfer to another MM rep.

If I closed in January I was entitled to 100% of quota attainment and commission, in Feb 75%/25% for me and the new rep respectively, in March 50%/50%. Once Q1 is over and it isn't closed it's all the new guys.

I am also inheriting a couple open Enterprise opps from folks moving up to our Strategic team - they have the same hand-off opportunity to close as well.

I also am inheriting customers from those promotions that up for renewals or sitting on whitespace for expansions.

I'm very happy with the transition, leadership is obviously setting us up for success.

However I have an entirely new account list and book of biz so I am starting that raw with no ramp.

Hopefully there are some points here you can take internal.

Iโ€™d say it should be like any other quota. If more than 50% of ramping reps hit quotaโ€ฆgreat the company does not need to give a ramp. Anything less and you are just creating a demoralizing situation for reps where no one thinks they can achieve quota.

I want to be a mid-pack Demo so I can change the way they are thinking about their vetting process, and leave them something to benchmark against the final vendors they look at. POC wise I want to be first. If we wow them, they won't put as much effort into the rest (hopefully). If we crash and burn, at least we did it early on and we can move past it.

Gotta have the confidence to be better than whoever goes last - but that way your fresher on their mind that whoever went prior.
