Reply All Hell

As an AE that covers the entire nation, I understand the need to copy a few folks to important emails. Gotta keep eyes on things for accountability and to make shit happen. Cool.

What grinds my gears are the unnecessary "reply all" responses. I don't need a response saying, "Thanks" to the important tidbits that were previously sent. How the hell does that help anyone on the chain? The important "need" gets buried under the superficial shit.

I need a beer.

Email providers need to create an 'are you sure?' prompt when you hit reply all if there are more than like 3 people on the thread.

Yah, it’s a bother. If you want to make a point, you can reply all to the Thanks email with a “no, no, thank YOU” message of your own.

It’s kinda like the moron that thumbs up every text message. I will often thumbs up their thumbs up. They get the message.

At a large billion dollar company I worked for someone hit reply all for like, all of North America. Then it turned into like 100s of emails with people replying all going ‘stop relying all’ then technicians saying inappropriate stuff they thought was funny lol, they had to get IT involved to kill the thread.

It got a response for VP level leadership and they were not happy.

I've seen this happen twice. Both times, the pure confusion, trolls, , and people replying all saying 'STOP REPLYING ALL" was absolutely hilarious.

Definitely grinds my gears too. Sometimes I wonder if no one taught them email etiquette or if they know and just don’t care. One is more forgivable than the other.

In once worked in company and it was reply all hell of whole day and whole 10 000 people org hehe. Then HR joined in saying every time you reply all a kitten will die. Then subthreads started on every location joining in as its own force. What a fun day. I definitely do not reply all with thanks. However I might with like christmas wishes (so once a year)
