Resume Advice?

Hi WR friends - I hope to get some feedback from any hiring managers or resume experts on my resume. I've hired a company to help with my resume, but I'm just not getting any interviews.

I've been at my current company for 10 years and have a solid history of promotions and success.

Again, would love some help/feedback! My resume is attached. Thank you in advance!

As has been mentioned, this resume seems to be a one-size-fits-all. It's formatted nicely, yet says very little. I should be able to tell what type of roles you're applying for from your employment history. What's a Senior Regional Director? Taco Bell has those.

If it's sales roles you're chasing, change that title to Senior Director of Sales. Nobody cares if it was regional. Nobody is going to ask. You current role? What's that? Senior Manager of Sales says nothing. Team Lead or Outbound Sales Manager.

In your summary, call yourself what you are, a seasoned sales leader with X years of experience driving high velocity growth. It's got to scream sales. This is a keyword salad.

Thank you! I’ll make these adjustments tomorrow. Honestly, I never thought to change the titles to be more understandable. Thank you!

Think in figurative terms of how that resume might read if you were attaching your W-2s from those years to it.

As all the others said, you have a lot of words but it’s hard to read and doesn’t scream sales.

Achievements, outcomes, and numbers. The extra fluff means nothing - that fluff is what you can speak to in an interview.

Or directly to a fluffer, if you’re so fortunate as to have one around.

What might be hurting your chances of getting an interview is editing the resume before applying so it matches the job description so the recruiter can easily hit Control F to find the relevant buzzwords

It’s a nice enough resume.

What are you doing before and after you send the resume? And are you proactively targeting companies you’d like to work for as well as those who lost jobs?

I am! I’ve connected with hiring managers and current employees. I also like the idea of networking with those that left. Is there an easy way to do this on LinkedIn?

Not a fan of using resume companies. They typically build general resume and not sales specific ones. A sales resume should have more numbers and statistics. You are off your a good start but take some of the fluffy words out and make it easier to quickly read it. These days you are against tons of others. Make your resume straightforward and direct. But again not bad start.

Yeah! Agreed with everyone. Good enough resume! Just make 3-4 based on different jobs you’re applying to. Pick up words mentioned in their JD and add to your resume. Add more numbers and best of luck. No reason why it shouldn’t work.

Moreover, check for hiring, reach our to the hiring manager. That’ll be easier than “easy apply”. Or check for referrals wherever possible. Those are the fastest ways to get in.
