Role Not Working - Jumping Ship! What to Choose?

Hi all -

Got a few next stage interviews with 4 companies of interest. For context - in the Saas space now, making 70k a year base OTE is supposed to be 85-90k but will not hit anywhere near that bc of lack of understanding of our ICP + manager is a TOTAL B I T...(fill in the letters).

Option A:

Series A funded, niche player in the space. No repvue score because it's small, Glassdoor 3.8. Don't know anyone who is doing what they do currently, cool tech.

Base: 65k

Environment: Hybrid - 4 days in office, 1 day remote

OTE: 95K (recruiting leader said that "100 percent of SDRs" hit this last year, might be a load of phooey who knows)

Option B:

Series C funded, magic quadrant player in the space. I know this market decently well. Repvue is about 88 percent, Glassdoor 4.2. Seems like a great fit, but upward mobility seems to take about 2 years to get to an AE. Additionally - read a few pretty scary glassdoor reviews about recent layoffs.

Base: 60-70k

Environment: Remote

OTE: 90-100k

Option C:

Series B funded, magic quadrant player in the space. Repvue about 77 percent, Glassdoor 3.7.

Environment: Remote

Base: 65-75k

OTE: 90-100k

Option D:

Series B company. France main office, smaller team in the US but still somewhat defined. Weird name, might be difficult saying it on a cold call lol. No repvue, 4.3 on Glassdoor.

Environment: Hybrid - but weird caveat. 4 weeks of full remote per year? Never seen this before

Base: TBD

OTE: 80-86k

Thoughts?

I picked B. But, I’d be curious to know more about what your long term goal is. I think that’s a big piece you should think through.

I'm kind of split in goals.
Right now, I'm pretty fed up with my sales managers in the past. Every single one of them has been shit. Enough for me to try my hand at a bunch of side hustles, which are going quite well --> potential for me to even turn them into full time gigs down the line.
However, I'm not sure yet. If I were to stick in sales, over everything else I'd want a company that has good leaders and a product that people want. Those points over money as I think that money usually stems from good PMF.

Was torn between B and C....C doesn't have any timeline to AE so maybe b/c it's in the convo with B that makes it the ideal option...but the layoffs...ew.

Yeah. This is the part that's throwing me off. I really like everything else + I know about this company as they are pretty well known within the space.
I guess I'll have to bring it up on our calls...will be an ew question, but necessary ofc.

B. Remote and better funded, though layoffs aren't good

I would go B, but also would switched based on your experience interviewing and if you liked the team/future co workers

Don't work for a company with HQ outside of the USA. It will come back to haunt you.
They don't understand capitalism in France or how to sell to the USA.
EDIT: This assumes you are USA based.

B slightly over C, then A, then D. Nice to have options. Good luck.

Are these other jobs offers that are on the table, or are you dreaming and just starting/mid interview process? C most likely if possible.

At this point - pretty sure I’ll get A, B, and D. C will be a toss up. Hopefully, C will happen as well then I’ve got a ton of options.

I prefer remote so I would say C or B.

Also were there any red flags in the interview process?

Is management or ownership talking negatively about the sales team during an interview?

When you are not sure, and the options are all similar in potential concerning Sal+OTE, whatever tidbits of culture you can pick up could help you land the right gig.

I would avoid the places layoff stories recently. Not sure if they can rightsize and which customers will be scared from it. Outside of that, pick the cash!
