The industry I sell to (which will remain anonymous) is fairly recession proof.

I sell into the hotel industry, their travel is up, but so are their expenses and it is still making things tough.

I sell Cyber. It's about as safe from recession as you can get given the current global situation.

Maybe it's Friday positivity but Economic challenges can potentially create new opportunity too. Yes some budgets might be cut and buying a lot harder for many, but if you are selling solutions, and solutions the can save businesses costs elsewhere, then that's a value prop.

In great economic times we do VERY well, and in bad economic times we to EXTREMELY well. Access to institutional bonds makes our clients untouchable during recessions and down markets, and we're in the top 1% of managed portfolio returns YoY over any 10 year period.

So yeah, it is affecting us - in a good way.

right now it isn't really affecting me. I'm also in the cyber security space so we're much more sheltered from a bad economy since we're a must have product

Disagree on cyber sales being recession proof, I sell a very high price tag product and while the need and importance of cybersecurity is ever-growing, budgets continue shrinking with many orgs deciding security is a “check the box” line item because the CFO or CEO doesn’t understand security, what “good” looks like, and to be fair to them, it’s usually because the security community (including the security teams, CISOs, and vendors) has failed to communicate the value of good security in a digestible, quantifiable, and relevant way to them, which makes security seem just like a cost center rather than a business enabler.

Before someone comes at me sharing how I just must not be good at sales or whatever, I’ll share that we recently revamped company messaging and did an org wide sales training on it largely centered around making security relevant to business goals/priorities, and we are hitting our goals as a company still, but still seeing the impact on the front lines for sure.

Recessions lead to a cutback in discretionary spending. Some industries, however, provide essential products and services, which make them somewhat "recession proof". I'm not sure what you mean by a "recession proof sales strategy", but would love to hear more about it.
