Sales Relocating from Canada to USA

I'm a Canadian sales professional (both IC & Mgmt experience at growth start ups) curious about working for a US-based company and open to relocating but it seems really hard to do? Does anyone have experience with this?

I think we all are right now with the state of the Canadian government. One step away from communism up here.

I don’t know the first thing about relocating across the border. But if I met a qualified player from Canada who had the plans laid out already, my only concern would be when the arrival was scheduled. Seems like a chicken/egg thing.

I do know that it’s usually a smoother transition if you’re going over the border on an investor visa (my knowledge is a bit dated though, things could have changed in the past few years)

A lot of companies won't take on the hassle of sponsoring you to relocate when there's so much talent stateside. There are lots of opportunities to work remote for a US-based company while living up here, it'll just take more searching and applying than not having that limitation.

No clue. Good luck. There's a good number of northern friends in here who hopefully can give insight.

i have not done this but my guess with the rise of remote work, a company would be less willing to pay you to move to the US. im sure there are tax implications of you living outside the country so i would look for larger companies that have international teams.

'Merica is great... in most places but the state you pick can really be make or break :)

It is a big investment from the organization, how soon would they want you to, have they discussed the logistics of it?
