September surge?

Hey guys, apparently there's going to be a hiring surge between September-November (this is from recruiters on LI). is this even a thing? what would be the best thing for someone trying to "break into tech" to do in the meantime?

I just booked a coaching call today and another for later on in this week. Been trying to get into tech sales since July of this year and nothing thus far. TIA savages.

Recruiters are looking to put a round peg into a round hole. They will not take a chance on you - its not their job. If the job req asks for someone with 2-5 years of SaaS experience, and you don't have it, they won't call you.

So how do you become that round peg? Early on I invested in myself with the technical certs (Cisco, Microsoft, etc.). I ended up getting a job selling security software and never looked back.

So without someone ready to take a chance on you now, invest in yourself so people will feel better about promoting you in the future.

I find things almost always pick up after summer. Whether that be sales or recruitment.
Good luck

Last push before the new FY or Hiring Managers taking advantage of open headcount before it could be taken away can be true.
There is never a "perfect" time so might as well continue to try to find a great role until you get the offer you have been waiting for

A lot of companies have their fiscal year end in September so that might be why.

Do you have sales experience and have a track record of success? Lean on that

Negative. Seems like I have to invest in myself even more. Let’s get it!

I hope so, and have heard that it was a thing. I know people who are starting this week at new roles, so it is starting!

Would love to have the market turn back to the IC's side but nothing about the economy or my day to day makes me feel like that's an option.

Interesting that you're hearing that, but it is after the summer and it may positively affect hiring. It's easier to hire/interview/train once most vacations are over and management is available.
What have you been selling, and is there anything in "tech" that you are most interested in?

You may also want to post your (redacted) resume so that people here can provide some advice.
