Should I stay or should I go?

Alright savages here is the deal.

I am an ENT AE at a large company that has just started laying off 10-15% of their workforce. I have been here for 1 Year and 7 Months. I am SEVERELY underperforming at 15% of my annual quota.

I knew I was fucked so I went out and found another job making more than I do know in a space that I think will do well in the next couple of years. I received the offer today.

I expressed my concerns to my manager and he said that I don't have anything to worry about, this year was tough for everyone, blah, blah, blah.

My gut says bounce...am I overthinking this?

Should I stay or should I go?

Why would you stay? You're not making your number there, so you're not set up for success. You have an offer for more money. Is there another reason you haven't stated that would compel you to stay?

Right, too much information missing to be able to give actual advice on this one

Yea probably overthinking this. There really is no reason to stay. The only positives is the product is great.

Yeah, it's hard to go when you like the product. But think about it this way: if it's that great, why isn't it selling?

Could not agree more than @Sunbunny31. You also said the space you’re going to be in for this new opportunity will do we’ll over the next few years, what space are you going to enter?

Back-channel to get the real story about the next role. Make sure you won't be in another bad spot.

This. If you don't talk to another rep before leaving, you're only being fed what the hiring manager and leadership want you to think about the company. Go get an active employee's perspective.

I *cannot* agree more. If you don't backchannel, you're getting the company take.

If I'm OP, I leave given this context. For the next role though? I need to know about the day in the life.

From what you stated - low performer, oppt to make more $$ - you should absolutely jump ship. In fact, and in all seriousness, if you decide to leave you should ask to be laid off so that you can benefit from any type of severance they are giving people.

Sounds like your choice is pretty obvious if you've already got another offer on the table.

Leave no matter what. But try to get insight to the new role from a current rep/s before jumping

You got the offer, take it. You might make more or at least be safe for a while, but you are already one foot out the door. Just don’t burn any bridges

If you are still making good money at your current role, I would stay. You're already at ent level, would you use your skills somewhere else in the company? Maybe leadership in the future?

Not making good money compared to new role, 90K bump in OTE with a lot more equity

Hit stay, but meant to hit Leave - You have a new job offer... Take it, get out of dodge while you can.

The alternative is - Stay, miss your quota by a mile, you get fired or laid off, then you have to explain that when you are interviewing which would be tough.

No question in my mind thinking about it like that, but I am sure there are other considerations that make it more complicated.
