Sober in sales

I'm approaching 100 days off the sauce and am getting to where I'm really killing it compared to before I took my last drink (better accounts closing, clients for my side hustle happy and paying) it's also seems like it's everywhere.

The last sober-in-sales post was two years ago, so figured a check-in was also in order. Who else is on this road?

that's awesome! Keep it up and good things will continue to happen. As someone who doesn't drink, don't let anyone tell you that you need to be a drinker in order to sell or entertain.

It helps a lot, but depends on your personality. Honestly, I prefer to only drink on Friday and Saturday, so it is out of my system on work days (or close to it). It might be helpful that you are just getting healthier and that’s what is leading the change. There are a lot of reasons, and I happy you are making it work!

I'm sober 99% of the time. With kids, the next day's hangover isn't worth it.

I don’t drink and have never found it to be a real hindrance to selling, at least real selling. Good on you!

That's awesome! Keep it up! I'm sober during the weekdays and will occasionally have a drink on the weekends, but certainly not every single one.

Congrats Alex; great achievement. My drinking has decreased, but I still can't put down the bourbon. Unsure if this is a hindrance, though I'm aware it's a vice.

I'm glad you found that it helps. I was getting high a bit too much cuz of sales stress. I almost never drink, weed on the other hand. Trying to breakfast the psychologic triggers, which are mainly sales and anxiety related.

I casually drink but have majorly slowed down compared to where I used to be. Idk if its affected my career but its been good for my personal life.

I am! Been almost 3 years, don't miss it at all. My only thing personally is I have a few clients who go bananas for wine, goes to Napa and Italy all the time, and I have no interest, I find it hard to connect some times. And, people often think I have this tough story when that is not mine. I just don't enjoy it anymore, and there's no good reason to go back.
I just listened to an interesting podcast on the subject from Angela Duckworth on this exact topic, https://freakonomics.com/podcast/why-is-there-so-much-social-pressure-around-alcohol/.
