Stand-Up desks worth it? Recommendations

All through covid lockdowns stand-up desks were all the rage, but are they worth the price?

The boss is offering to improve my work set up but don't have it in me to ask for the high cost stand-up desks seem to go for right now. My current desk cost me $40 second hand and does the job. I am curious if the stand up aspect might lead to more productivity though, especially when rallying through cold calls.

Any recommendations on more affordable options?

I have one myself and it allows me to change things up when I want to. I personally don't see major benefits for it. On the other hand, a good chair will help out a ton.

I love switching between sitting and standing! I find that I prefer to stand on calls and like to sit when doing admin stuff (ie. creating proposals). Got my desk on Craigslist, but that was pre-pandemic. Def take a look at second hand options, though!

So many co-workers got them peak covid and I feel like none of them uses it as a standing desk now. They just have it lowered.

I have an attachment I got from Wayfair because I love my full desk already - sleek and gets me up during the day at least for a few hours. Highly recommend!

A better chair is nice. Standup desks are good and all but I rarely saw people use them that had them

I have an adjustable one, and for some reason, placebo effect or not, my demos are always better when I stand

100% yes - I’ve got an autonomous.ai smart desk pro and while $$ wouldn’t trade it for anything. Also, buy the best chair you can afford. Steelcase, Herman Miller, and Haworth are absolutely worth the money.
