The Current Thing I'm Selling: Festival Tickets

Anybody got any advice/good ideas for selling tickets to a festival. I did ask chatGPT for advice and I'm looking for more insights outside of this.

Start early: It's always best to start your ticket sales as early as possible. This will give you more time to promote your event and sell tickets. It also allows your customers to plan their schedule around your event.

Use multiple channels: Use multiple channels to promote your event and sell tickets. Social media, email marketing, and advertising are all effective ways to reach potential customers.

Offer early bird discounts: Offer early bird discounts to encourage people to buy tickets early. This will not only help boost sales but will also create a sense of urgency and encourage people to act quickly.

Make it easy to buy tickets: Ensure that the process of buying tickets is as easy as possible. Use a simple and intuitive ticketing platform that allows customers to buy tickets quickly and easily.

Provide different ticketing options: Offer different ticketing options to suit different budgets and preferences. This could include VIP packages, group discounts, or early access to the event.

Leverage partnerships: Partner with other organizations or influencers to promote your event and sell tickets. This will help you reach a wider audience and boost sales.

Follow up with customers: Follow up with customers after they've purchased their tickets to provide additional information and updates about the event. This will help build excitement and encourage them to spread the word to their friends and family.

Not horrible advice from my AI overlord chatGPT. Just looking for some more uniquely human tips.

Interesting. The handful of festivals I've been to i bought tickets online.

Are you selling them individually or to businesses and brokers to distribute?

A buddy of mine runs this company and I considered an offer from them about 5 years ago: https://gopassage.com/

This isn't self promotion, nor am I trying to do my friend a solid. It's actually a great platform for ticketing/promotion.

Social media so far with some decent success. Need to create new content though. Also having a big meetup soon and planning on selling tickets at the meetup

double down on what's working - if you can unlock social media that's a great avenue.

tips for the website:

on the checkout page, list X amount of people who are already going (social proof is big in the space for festivals)

you can target those who have already purchased with a referral program. refer 3 friends, get a coupon of official merch, refer 5 friends to get a pass to cut the line to get in, refer 10 friends to get a VIP ticket. etc etc

targeted social ads, as it seems to be working on social media, create look a like audiences.

if you can, have the artists that are performing promote as well.

Well, I believe there's an online purchase option for those tickets.

If so, you should have an access to that data base to be able to offer the same ticket (at the same or better price) for the attendees family members and friends.

Wanna get your sales rate goes higher, Try to offer a bulk sale discount for a full family or friends group - for +3 tickets and above- Hope this helps!
