I strongly believe that AI is not going to replace real selling.

It does not understand nuance the way a seasoned seller does. It’s a long way off. Call centers look cool though :)

Hard for AI to actually be empathetic, read social queues, pivot quickly, and generate actual human relationships ….for now anyway.

I'm convinced that bots are currently talking to other bots online with social media. So it makes sense that AI will be selling to AI, leaving no "real" interactions.

3rd row back, 3rd guy over to the right - you'll see that his microphone is actually attached to his brain, through his eyeballs. AI is just not perfect yet.

Snark aside, I dunno man. I wouldn’t be chasing a law degree today. Seems like JD, along with MD, is in the AI crosshairs. My dad is a recently retired, highly-respected, board-certified Internist who has had a US President on his roster. He says “I’m glad my career ended before this stuff showed up.”

My honest read is that sales folk are a very long way away from being replaced. Computers don’t read rooms, procreate or display empathy. Until such time as the entire buying function is completely trusted by SMEs, the selling function will require humans. This won’t change in our lifetime.

Either way, like any new tech that’s gonna stick, get in front of it before it runs you over. My opinion FWIW.

I’m in the cloud contact center technology space, having a hell of a time getting a second interview, and I think it’s because I am getting stuck. Instead, they do not like my response to the following question “what are your goals with this new role.” Any guidance would be appreciated.
