Tip for jobseekers: cold call the recruiter/hiring manager

I recently got an interview at zoom video, it was for a enterprise healthcare sales associate position.

It had over 400 applications so I knew there was no fucking way I was going to be the "best" candidate on paper.

I went on LI and found who looked like the right person.

used zoominfo to find her number and cold called her and set the first meeting next day

any other tips anyone has to stand out like this? (I'm on the market myself so I'm all ears for more tips like these)

Did you use your company’s ZoomInfo? If they are petty they could take action. Cover your tracks.

I did but we sequence thousands of people a week I highly doubt someone checks it. And if they are I’m fucked because I’ve been fixing my resume on my work computer.

You did right to begin with. Just keep being bold since they seem to value that trait.

This works, but also direct emails and messages. A little less invasive, but also effective.

Do love your persistence, you've already put yourself on the right track and got yourself a meeting.
All what I recommend you to do is to focus on your answers in the interview on the addition you'll put to your role once being accepted besides the sets of skills and experiences you have at the same role whenever they would ask you that question about why should we hire you, and wish you much of luck!

Try to find out if you already know someone working there? A referral/endorsement will go a long way too.

Nice work. You’re going to need to stand out, and this is a great way to do it.

Good luck

The best interviewer wins.

you don’t have to know anything about sales. But being prepared, understanding their business, the product, who they sell to, etc. that matters.

be excited.
smile.
sit up straight/lean forward a touch.
Ask questions that are relevant to your interviewers persona. (Don’t ask the recruiter about the future of the product for example)

stop thinking about losing the sale and start acting like you are winning it. It’s impossible to lose something you do not have.

Way to make yourself stand out. When done with the interview, if you want the job, ask for it on the spot!

Rejected by recruiter for SDR position before any interview, despite having referral and track record. My inner-salesman is telling me to ignore the rejection and start reaching out to Sales Managers directly.
