Update RE: I done messed up

I wasn't fired, I wasn't promoted, but both are still possibilities.


I called my VP and asked if I still was employed and his response was "Yeah you still have a job, the Board meets today to discuss all of this. They want to discuss how much longer to operate in the red. It's out of my hands"


Sooo the wait continues. we have a team-wide meeting for the first time in person on Wednesday, I'd assume that's D-Day.


In the meantime, I received a verbal commitment for another 75k deal... It'd be asinine if they fired me

I think you're walking with a warning sign over your head with your boss so either buckle down and work harder or start aggressively finding your next home. Either way, it's all good!!! A verbal commitment on a 75k deal isn't going to turn your company around. I'd be looking for other offers ASAP & start thinking about negotiating your severance package on Weds.ย

If it makes you feel better the hiring market is crazy. I'll have at least 2 job offers by end of next with a OTE of 40k higher.

Needed to hear that, thank you. I have offers but outside my current role and industry. Massive pay-jumps but unsure if switching industries is the move to be honest. Ive never been a whore for money as much as I want freedom of time and autonomy in my work. Choices choices....
