Incredibly thankful to have 3 amazing offers in front of me right now. For the most part, comp (base and variable) are about the same, a signing bonus here or there. Reps are hitting OTE at all three companies - I ain't no bitch. I vetted the hell out of current AE's, past AE's, and I chose these companies b/c of websites like RepVue, Glassdoor, and Compgauge.
With comp being close to the same and over-achieving OTE within reasonable reach, I feel like it's down to the industry and what career niche I want to begin carving for myself. Frankly, the industries could not be more different. I'm in the first 2 years of my SaaS sales career (have a few years of sales experience prior to that).
Option 1 - Cyber security leader. Corporate AE. Large company - structure, training, tons of internal promotions happening consistently. Great logo on the resume. OTE is slightly lower, but tons of potential to crush plan. Industry is more recession proof. Not sure if I love selling to very technical leaders/buyes (CTO's, CISO's, etc.). But great career trajectory with c sec industry. $10k equity, 4 year vest, 1 year cliff. Huge TAM. Fully remote.
Option 2 - CRM dominating the SMB and MM space. Large company - structure, training, very clear path to promotion. Great logo on the resume. Significant sign on bonus (they upped the ante on this after I told them the other offers). Not AS recession proof of a product? You could argue CRM is essential. $30k in equity, 3 year vest (you earn more with each promotion). Selling to different personas. Huge TAM. Fully remote.
Option 3 - Comp management point solution. Industry clear leader. Series C startup ($100 million & hit unicorn status - incredibly rare), backed by top VC firms you know. Growth AE role with avg attainment 113%. Loved all my interactions with hiring managers, growth mindset on the team at a solid pre-IPO company. Selling to CFO's, VP's of Finance and some sales leaders - tons of opportunity to grow comp and business acumen talking to these folks. Huge TAM. Fully remote.
Genuinely feel like I could say yes to any company and be really happy. All three are a huge leap above where I am now in many aspects.
