What companies are letting reps work from ANYWHERE?

Not just remote work, the ability to work anywhere in the world, maybe even go into the office too. 100% flexibility.

Anyone working at a company that does this or know of companies that are letting their people work wherever they choose?

My company. But only for me haha. They won't hire anyone outside of Chicago anymore and those in Chicago are required minimum 2 days in office a week. I'm special.

I spend most of my time in Mexico but I also go wherever I want whenever I want and just take my computer with me. I'll be in Wyoming next week, Chicago the week after, Vegas two weeks after that, probably scoot on up to Wyoming again in November and Cancun in December.

Yeah, I'm honestly surprised nobody has raised any noise about why I get to and nobody else. Likely has something to do with the fact that I'm the longest-tenured employee outside of leadership, even when considering a six-month period where I left for another company.

Before me, it was just the CEO, COO, CTO, VP of Marketing, Controller, and two members of the tech team. Plus I built an entire department for these guys that opened up an entirely new revenue stream from the ground up while simultaneously running the full sales cycle.

Shit, come to think about it.. maybe I need a raise

maybe the raise could be a % of profit brought through that stream moving forward.

Would be nice since it's where 99% of our current revenue comes from but they'd never go for it. I should have asked for the raise when I took that on not after the fact.

The reality is it makes no sense to negotiate a raise off of past success. Has to be based in what you bring to the table moving forward.

This is amazing! Do you have a home base or are you just using long term rentals when you travel?

Where do you find long-term rentals? Airbnb annoys me sometimes.

Thank you, and how do you avoid getting scammed there but still being sure that there will be a place when you get there.

So, if they ask you to deposit in advance, the concern would be getting scammed.

But, if you donโ€™t pay until you get there how do you know the place wonโ€™t be taken by the time you get there?

get a hotel for a couple of days, set appointments to view multiple places that you like and when you make your decision you can either deposit through an Oxxo to the owner or you can pay them in person.

I feel like most remote sales are allowed to work from anywhere in the US. Once you cross the pond the taxes/visas/time difference becomes an issue

Taxes are easy. I am legally employed as a resident of the State of Wyoming. Visas? Depends on where you're going but typically if you're only there for 3 months at a time, as an American, there's no need. Time difference isn't an issue for me because I just live as though it's CST wherever I go.

Taxes are easy until you stay too long in a country that your company doesn't have tax status in, then your coming home or your fired. As long as you stay under the max time allowed though its simple.

Roots are for trees. A rolling stone gathers no moss. Also, taxation is theft.

How long have you worked in Europe? If you were in London its still a 6 hour difference, so would you start work at 3am?

I don't know that my company would care as long as I'm getting the job done.

I am, however, expected to travel to customers if/when needed, so I can't imagine they'd be thrilled at paying airfare from some remote, exotic region to Houston or NYC and back.

hmm anywhere in the world? i have to imagine that is only for large companies that already have offices globally and understanding the tax ramifications wouldn't be a heavy lift.

I think Hubspot does this. But they also don't pay commissions, from what I understand.

I could be completely wrong. I read something to that effect a while back. I'm either wrong about it being hubspot or just totally talking out of my ass.

My company, because we have people in about a dozen different countries and only 3 offices in the US. Most of us are remote
