I was going to be a therapist. Got into grad school and was burnt out before it even started.
But hey now I just listen to my customer's problems. same same, right?

Got my degree in Information Systems with a minor in Cybersecurity. Figured I'd be a general IT guy (fixing computers, etc) but ended up taking a job with a 3PL out of college brokering freight. Got out of that 3PL job after 6 months of hell and moved on to the world of selling tech.
Public relations.

Was gonna move out to LA and make movies, but I got a gig in sales and something about moving to LA during a pandemic wasn't sitting right (Not making a joke that was my actual gut feeling)
I was going to play baseball professionally for as long as I could before blowing up my shoulder. Then went to enlist in the Air Force but wasn't fit for duty thanks to said shoulder. Went to college, planned on doing advertising, and then had a buddy present a sales opportunity out of blue in between junior & senior year. Locked that up, dropped out, and been in the trenches since.
I wanted to be an operations manager. Now I think all operations people suck...

studied history. thought I wanted to be a teacher (when in high school) or a prof (when in college). but I've never been one who knew what they wanted to do, usually just want to be like the inspiring authority figure that was in front of me. Now I wanna be John Barrows when I grow up :P
Regarding client meetings, asking consent for anything COVID related is huge. For example, even if you know you're both vaxxed up, be sure to ask for permission to remove you mask, and in a way that makes it clear you really are willing to keep wearing it.
