2 Weeks Notice?

How many sales people have actually given a two weeks notice and have lived it out? I previously worked for a startup that would just fire you on spot if you mentioned a notice period. Let's hear it!

When you give notice, which you always do (take the high road!), just be ready for that to be your last day.

I've seen so many times that people are walked out when they give notice.

I have accepted a role outside of the industry so I lived out the two weeks. Basically just updating the crm and doing intros for the backfill.

The last time I put in my 2 weeks, they disabled me that day. BUT, they did pay me for the 2 weeks. The time before, I put in my 2 weeks and my boss said that they were thinking I could do 4 weeks instead 💀. Mind you I was just an AE. I ended up telling them actually, you got a week of me left. And that was that 😎

I have lived it out. We are declared as a non performing employee the day we serve the notice and not expected to work as usual. I take the time to handover and close as many deals as I can in those many days.

Today is the last day of my 2 weeks notice. Management wanted me to stay on to hand off all my current deals to other reps.

In my industry when you give a two weeks notice they say “today is your last day, bye”

I've given a two weeks notice before and lived to tell the tale! I even managed to sneak out a few boxes of office supplies on my last day. Just kidding, I wouldn't do that. But seriously, giving a notice period shows professionalism and respect for your employer. Don't let a fear of being fired stop you from doing the right thing. Unless of course, you really hate your job and can't wait to get out of there. Then by all means, burn those bridges and don't look back!

The times I've done it, my employer has never /wanted/ me to live it out. It's always, okay well enjoy these two weeks off. There's only been one time where they wanted me to make intros to my current/former prospects for the other folks on my team.

Upon my last change I have 5 weeks notice. Worked out well, was able to close some deals and do a proper transition. All on good terms. But have also heard of folks being terminated upon notice. Guess it depends on the value the company places on your last few weeks more than anything.

My last two spots I gave 2 weeks notice and worked the two weeks. I mostly was helping with account transitions.
