We're going to need some more details here champ, this feels a little rushed as a post.
Industry, vertical, salary, market penetration, start-up vs. late stage, etc.
Too many factors to decide here.

What is your current role? What do you like about it, what don’t you like about it? What are your goals? What do you want to be doing in 2-3 years? Are you aware of how many doors there are in the galaxy?

Tons of posts on these, but, IMO AE. Would rather not have to manage a relationship, get them in get ‘em sold, pass them off

In my field (commercial insurance and employee benefits) an AE is higher on the food chain.

Sounds like your main issue is your anxiety. Have you spoken to a mental health professional?

totally depends on what you want to be doing. they are both 2 different skill sets in my mind.

from my experience, you have a higher earning potential as an AE, but the AM positions have a little bit more job security

These are very different roles. Think of it like asking whether a person would rather be a farmer or a fisherman.

There's like a million other threads asking this same question and the answers are always the same.
It depends on where you thrive. If you're unsure what the job functions are specifically for each role, try reaching out to folks who are currently working in those roles to get a better idea.

totally depends on what you like! Some sellers thrive off the hunt and once they eat what they kill want to move onto the next. Others like to build long term relationships, service active customers, and grow that base into something bigger!

You can find well-compensated roles in either camp...
