The unfortunate reality of how a lot of places work - I could see it being beneficial as a way to standout unless you donโ€™t fit the stereotypical โ€œattractiveโ€ salesperson. Iโ€™ve seen it back fire on people when they include visuals before actually getting an interview.

Now, would I ever want to work somewhere that places that big of a skewed priority on appearance? No. But it still happens in sales all the time.

I would say do it, like you said it will stand out.

I would think most leaders in sales prefer someone who thinks different, plus it shows you are not just mass applying to jobs

You got this - I'm talking about the basics here.

Look put together, make sure your background is clean, avoid ambient noise, speak clearly and make eye contact, good resolution on video etc.

Nothing too crazy. But I think if you're going to do something like this, you just gotta do it right.

I mean, you can do this to stand out if you want to. it's totally up to you. How marketable do you want yourself and to show that you are willing to communicate in more ways than just email?

Donโ€™t know until you try. Alot of people are doing video resumes these daysโ€”a 60 sec clip as opposed to a cover letter would definitely bend my ear, personally.

Honestly, I would love to see half that motivation on the SE candidates I am helping interview. These mofos don't have the initiative to freaking use a search engine, much less record a video.

I have always said BDRs make fantastic SEs once they stop being intimidated by being "technical." They like to break eggs and try new stuff and are obsessed with customer engagment.
