@bountyhunter: I've been reading your posts recently and it seems to me you're trying to navigate your way into your new SDR role.

Welcome to the War Room firstly! It's excellent to see you trying to seek advice to get better at your SDR gig, and trying to understand what works and what doesn't. I've been an SDR myself and can give you 2 pointers that helped me throughout my journey:

1) Be Diligent: You might have already seen, SDR-ing isn't just about cold calls n emails. It's also Meetings / Notes / Articulation / Logging / CRM reports / strategy / AE relations / Territory / Product / Reachouts - and a lot more. Keeping an eye over everything, while prioritising output (conversations/meetings/opps) is key!

2) KYP: Knowing Your Prospect solves more than half the battle. The right way to know 'em is to sit and meditate over what your DILO (day in life of) would look like if you were them. Buyers don't care about their company, they care about what their company thinks about them. Take every cold call and write every email with the intention of making your buyer/prospect a rockstar in front of their company. That'll open the doors like anything - which is your core KPI.

Cheers!

They call me Daddy, Sales Daddy
You need to have a reason for them to (1) not hang up on you & (2) actually engage you in conversation.

(1) dont talk about those boring statements like every other call agent (2) ask questions, talk slowly so they pay attention what are you talking about. thats the main strategy in my head, because those two things are necessary to continue anything

These aren’t what I would pick. I’d pick whatever works to get them to stay on the line and connect. So I have to provide value.

Audience is going to dictate your approach a lot. I sell to lawyers so charisma is probably the most important element in cold calls. Getting these guys to like you opens the doors big time. It means the difference in one-off sales vs lifetime client.

Big fan of asking more questions on a cold call, vs saying statements

I want to be off the phone in less than 90 seconds. I didn't call to talk. I called to set an appointment for a time to talk further in depth

Maybe 30-40. Shouldn't take much more than that

Wow that's slightly ridiculous. If you want 100 calls per day you should hire a telemarketer for $17/hr. 30-40 should be the goal to work down to. Starting out, 50-60 tops. Anything after that is slightly overkill and something is broken if you need to make more than that. That high of volume leads to poor quality and I hate wasting AEs time with bad opps. Just not a good way to partner with the sales org

if we are looking at that like some type of quota, its bad. i am just talking about how you need to work hard and work smart(make a strategy) so you can exceed the quota(if we are taking succesfully qualified leeds as our quota).

People want to talk to other empathetic humans for the most part, if you show you know a little about them that will go miles
