Another Step Towards Quality: "Leaderboard 2.0"

In the recent few months, we’ve re-realized one thing: we need to keep the War Room bulletproof of shitty content. Only then, we can make this the best place for salespeople that’s ever existed. Commission has its own place in the WR, but quality content takes precedence hands-down.

We also promised you during the Recap n Rewards for AMA with Ross, that we are continuously thinking of more ways to keep rewarding savages who’re trying to make WR a better place for salespeople every single day - who go above and beyond the “congrats” and “thank you’s” - who bring in some real, unadulterated, savage-like stories.

So we thought we shouldn’t wait for another AMA to reward our savages, but instead think of a way to embed it in the way we interact in the War Room. The answer was staring right at us all this while, and now the time has come to implement it.

Introducing: "Leaderboard 2.0"

Till now, the WR weekly leaderboard has been about the maximum commission earner - top 3 folks who have max. post n comments, get the highest upvotes & make the most referrals. In short: it’s always been about volume (it’s important to mention that some have done exceptionally well by winning the leaderboard regularly and truly deserve to be called “savages”).

What’s different in "Leaderboard 2.0"?

In Leaderboard 2.0, we want to bring in 2 more core values that the War Room represents and stands for: having top-quality sales content and making this place for new salespeople to transform into sales savages like yourself. We’ve decided to have 3 categories of weekly winners in Leaderboard 2.0:

  • Top Commission Winner [$25 Gift Card]: top commission earner (as it is right now)
  • Top Quality Winner [$35 Gift Card]: best content added in WR (posts/comments / etc.): decided by Bravado management
  • Top Newcomer [$25 Gift Card]: will be decided by the War Room via a weekly Sunday poll, and/or necessary interventions from WR Moderator

When will this be Live?

Coming Monday i.e December 05, 2022.

How this will Work?

To kick-start Leaderboard 2.0, we’d be removing the existing leaderboard section which you see on the right-hand side of your War Room feed and replacing it with a pinned post on your feed. There’d be a new pinned post named “Weekly Leaderboard Updates” every week, which would be updated several times a week indicating which savage is leading in each category.

Final Thoughts?

We believe with Leaderboard 2.0, we’d witness the change we all want to see in the War Room by making this a place for salespeople to become the best versions of themselves, and to rightfully reward the ones who’re able to.

Honor Thy Content!

ps: for the ones who were not-too-happy about gift cards going away from the commission store, this can be an excellent opportunity for you to grab ‘em every single week by adding quality content in the War Room.

Great happy medium for the gift cards! Really like the newcomer being determined through a poll voted by the people!

wow i actually really like this.

I also like that Bravado determines what is quality content. that will help us Savages learn what is considered helpful over time.

Top newcomer is a nice wrinkle! How do you define a newcomer? when does a newcomer phase out of that title?

love the work!

Yet to pencil down the criteria for newcomers, but we're thinking along the lines of the ones who've joined / joined back the community in the last 3 to 6 months. Open to hearing more ideas.

yeah i think a time frame of some sort is a good idea. I feel like 3 months is a solid amount of time.

Another thought I had was based not really on when you join, but when you POST.

idk if you have data on how many WR folks are purely observing and NOT posting.

I think there is a case for someone who has been in the WR for a while and never made a post, who now wants to try to contribute. I would say that person would be a newcomer. but idk how hard that is to track.

Moving from lurking into active posting? I mean, if you can count from the date of the first post rather than the sign up, it makes sense.

Yeah, it's that fine line. Lurking enables a new user to better understand the tone and engagement of our community, but you also want them to not hold off if they have some great things to contribute. I don't envy you trying to sort out rules of engagement. :)

I think we should revamp the “top commission” to the most upvoted. If we care about quality content, that should be the important factor.

Also, I’d replace the top newcomer with most commented on. Give credit to those who start actual conversations.

There are still ways to fuck with this though, which people have done to stay on the leaderboard as it is. So as it is a good suggestion, it is still not the best.

In what way? Just constantly reply to everyone who comments? And how does total upvotes not make it the most influencing?

I like this too. It gives those that are maybe not as frequent to the platform and are focused on their jobs, but still add great content.

Seems that the intention behind this all clearly comes from a quality over quantity approach! I like these changes overall and can see how it removes the congrats farmers from the equation

Worth trying.

But I would like to see an elimination of >1 like of Congrats on the Deal Win posts. It’s messed up when I see 10 upvotes on a simple congrats post.
