Any advice on how to best answer the “Tell me a little about yourself” question during a sales interview? 🤔
Always seem to flunk this question..

I always refer to the following formula:
Present: Talk a little bit about what your current role is, the scope of it, and perhaps a big recent accomplishment.
Past: Tell the interviewer how you got there and/or mention previous experience that’s relevant to the job and company you’re applying for.
Future: Segue into what you’re looking to do next and why you’re interested in this gig (and a great fit for it, too).

This is fantastic. I also add a fun personal comment as well.

They're not really looking for you to talk a ton, they're looking to see how humbly you can brag and carry a conversation.

If you did a little bit of LI stalking first and noticed a commonality, great to include something you have in common with the interviewer! I've had some interviews feel like I got off to head start because of things as small as:
I once volunteered at a place they served on the board of;
We went to schools in the same conference and talked college ball;
Both previously worked in the same industry or role before moving to sales.
