Any tips for crushing cold calls?

Dealing with a ton of hang-ups off the bat, trying to figure out the little details. Have shadowed a few of my co-workers but don't think anything is sticking quite right, most likely because the wordage doesn't feel like "me" so it doesn't carry that same comfort it might with them.

Any frameworks that someone might have to experiment with? Working in SaaS.

1. # of dials
2. Tone
3. Script

As someone who has done about 6-7k cold calls in the past 3 months, these have been the top things that have influenced how many meetings I set up.

Fully believe that you can spit gibberish over the phone and come in with a good tonality and set up a call. That being said - would be useful to look over your script and do some A/B testing if you can with how you word things.

Most importantly tho - do not shy away. Cold calling is 100 percent a numbers game so keep dialing even if u feel horrible. GL sir!

They call me Daddy, Sales Daddy
You need to put yourself in their shoes. Assume you're in their seat and receive a call from an SDR.... what would hold your attention for more than 5 seconds?

What has worked for me in the past is to name drop immediately - "I was referred to you by <name> as the person who cares about <widget>, was I told correctly?"

This also works - drop names of other companies they would be familiar with in their industry or area: "I'm calling because we're working with <X Company> on <Project> with some great results and I was wondering who would be the right person within your organization who'd be interested in hearing about it"

You need to give them a reason to care within 5 seconds of them answering the call. If you don't, they will hang up on you at :06.

trying to use a "yes/yes" framework- asking closed questions about what they're doing right now and then trying to get to the ask (demo) ASAP, but haven't gotten to the ask in most calls.

Can you write out your script?

Used to be "Hey, this is X right?" into a "yes/yes" type deal where I asked about their provider/satisfaction and then went into the CTA, but incorporated some of the frameworks with what I had and have been seeing a lot better progress from that!

Seems like an issue of tonality thenโ€ฆtry using different inflections and see what sticks.

Increase your call numbers. The more you call the more you learn the more you get experience and become great at it. Good luck!

be yourself on the phones or it wont work. Only use first names, don't ask how their day is going. Be honest. No matter what role you're calling talk to them like they're an old college friend.

Leading with why you called and intent, meaning you say hey here's why I'm calling, thought this might be something that impacts you and I don't know of a much better way to get your attention quickly than this.

Confidence and Practice. Follow a script at the beginning. Keep it short. Ask for permission. Avoid word vomit.
