BDR’s Today Have It Easy

6 months into a new role --- couldn't believe how much the SDR role has changed since I've left it, the amount of tech embedded in the prospecting process, don't get me started on ABM or ABX and how that plays a role, I just can't believe how easy it's become. We just onboarded two new BDR's -- I'd love to encourage them to start doing the tasks that feel the most uncomfortable: their first call and pitch, and i want them to fail quickly so they can get back up and start crushing it. Any tips?

The tech embedded prospecting is there but getting results in this competitive market has also become difficult. Ask them to stand out. Don’t make a call to complete a task, call to win.

If people are calling, you need to send a telegram to be different then be it!

Be direct with them and lead by example. Grab an account/contact and show them. Then have them do it and give each other feedback. Coach them from there

Looking for first SDR role
It think if you make them fail early it will derail them. Start with small wins and increase the difficulty. No one plays GTA on most difficult mode for the first time and complete a mission.

I try not to teach the pitch for my BDRs. It is better for them to know pain points VS talking about our product.We are BDRs, we do not sell, we discover pains and how our product solve them!
