Truly eye opening context here in this post, wouldn’t you agree? I find it so enthralling to get the opinion of someone who’s entire opinion is formed by another person.

I just ordered it so I haven’t read it yet. I only passed this recommendation along because I noticed there are a lot of Christopher Voss fans in this group. If you follow Christopher Voss on LinkedIn, he just posted this book as a must read. @curiousfox

I just finished it. I am surprised because some of the advice offered is against what Voss says, but overall it is a much better approach to sales than any other.
For example, Yastrow suggests framing things in a way that no matter how a customer responds it is either "yes or yes", which goes against what Voss talks about with giving people permissions to say no.
The idea as a whole is all about being flexible and talking more about your xlient than yourself. This is great advice.
Most of it will feel like common sense for many sales pros, but it is a great change of pace from what a lot of old school managers preach

I will! I won’t even get the book until late March/ early April. I ordered it on Amazon and it was their seller’s last hard book cover. Selling like hotcakes apparently! You can also get it on audiobook with a subscription (and paperback).

Why did Voss endorse it? I'm curious if he was paid to do so.

I can’t answer that as I wouldn’t know… but he does recommend books from time to time. Once I get a chance to read it, I’ll share my opinion. 😊

This is all I know about the book so far. Steve Yastrow is the author. @Kosta_Konfucius

Ok peeps! I finally received the book. It’s a thinner book so it didn’t take that long to peel through it. The author recommends a lot of what I’ve already been doing, and that’s going in to any prospect/client meeting without a set script and rigid agenda. It explains that effective selling is letting a natural conversation take place. He illustrates that if you try to “pitch”, must like throwing a baseball, the recipient is going to automatically be on the defensive. Additionally, effective selling is much like improv. Without a set script, you need to improvise. This is key. We all do it in our normal lives and don’t even think about it. Why don’t we naturally do it with sales? If conversations are authentic, and you’re asking questions to learn about the person rather than trying to pitch your product/service, you are better able to understand what your prospect/client is interested in. At the end of the day, no one cares about your pitch. They care about themselves and their own personal agendas and goals. Some might say this is common sense, but too many of us forget that we are dealing with humans.
