Business Development Manager

Business Dev Manager back to Sales : Possible?

Hey all, I was an Account Executive for 2 years but over the past year and a half I have been a Business Development Manager focusing on Cloud services pertaining to Microsoft Azure. I am wanting to get back into SaaS sales, but I want to start back as a mid market or corporate seller compared to my experience being in SMB sales. Is this possible, any tips and tricks to help my case?

AE is AE. Focus on your relevant skill set (B2B selling) and tangible metrics you reached (always exceeded quota, sold largest deal in department., etc). Start looking at open AE roles and applying!

have a good answer on why you want to make the move. think about what you find more satisfying about a closing role that you want to experience again.

If you have a resume i would make you description section something about "former AE looking to get back to a closing role" Something that stands out and helps ppl get past your current title not being AE.

Sure its possible. Why wouldn't it be? Just leverage the results you had in the BDM position in a sales fashion on your resume.
"Grew account base revenues by X year over year" for example.

Focus on metrics.
