I got the gig! Thank you for your help, I prepared the advice and crushed it.

After being an SDR for over 2 years, finally I have stepped up to AE at a new org. If you see my previous posts, my previous role wasn't going to end well.

Anyways, time to crush it!

My friend, I've been at this so long that my first sales management job doesn't even fit on my 2-page resume. And I still haven't figured out what feels better, closing a deal or teaching someone else to do it. This falls in the category of the latter. It lights me up that something I said played a tiny part in you getting this job... anon or otherwise.
You got this job, homie. You were the one who was resourceful enough to ask some people who might have an answer that you didn't. That's pure sales gut right there. I have no doubt you will succeed if you just keep asking the right questions in the right places and at the right times.

Congrats! Having just moved over myself - although internally - difference is definitely mostly organizational/patience. As an SDR, your “deal cycle” is minutes: after you hang up the phone, you are done. As an AE it’s weeks or months. Pace yourself and know that it takes time. Also: don’t tee yourself up shit leads.
