Called in Sick to WFH

So, I work in a hybrid situation where I go into the office M-Th and we all wfh on Fridays. Well, I ran all of my stats and closes and I am WAY more productive when I wfh, I have closed roughly 72% of my deals on Fridays when working from home. Now, so far today, I have sent out two new agreements, I have 3 more meetings this afternoon already and one looks like I'll get an OCC out of it. AND i got a Verbal... all of this happened in 2.5 hours this morning...

Would you call in "slick" if you knew it was going to benefit you more?

EDIT: I called in to say I am not feeling well enough to be around people, but to wfh instead.

Would you have done the same?

Trust me, it's happened already. I am applying for the Strategic position that just opened up and it will more of a remote position + a different boss as I will be working under the VP instead of the Sales Director.

Bank that sick time, you may REALLY need it. If you have unlimited PTO then it's less clear, but as unfair as it is, excessive sick days are frequently looked down on.

It's truly unfortunate that it can come to this in 2022.

Well, my sick days get a refresh in about 6 weeks... and I don't use that many at all.

Did you have to claim this as sick time, though, or just "I'm going to work but don't want to (cough cough) make anybody else sick"?

Friday’s are a big closing day regardless of your location. As others have said, save the sick days and just go into the office. Or have the talk with your boss.

Ah yeah, true statement. Also, I ran it on all of the days that I wfh as a whole whether they were on Fri or not, and the I have an increased number of Deals won on those days. Less distractions at home than when I am in the office.

Save your sick time. You never know when you'll need it. If it's a use it or lose it sick time plan, by all means, call in "slick."

lose it at the end of the year and Jan 1 it refreshes, plus, I am not taking an actual sick day, I was just approved to wfh instead today.

Answered my question.

Suddenly, if I was you, I'd be "sick" fairly frequently. Bummer about these lingering illnesses and all.

This one's a toughie. I'm all for making more money/getting more done but at the expense of your sick day just doesn't sound fair.

I'm not using a sick day, just called in that I "didn't feel comfortable" working in the office as I had a slight fever this morning and my boys both had fevers the past two days. so I am getting paid regular hours, just working from home on a day that I am supposed to be in the office, does that make sense?

I would 100% say I am not feeling the best but can WFH. Use the "Dont want to get anyone else sick" line and should not be an issue

I hate to go to office but in this case I would continue to go to office or take it up with my manager if can I justify wfh to be more profitable.

I am usually very very careful how I use my sick leaves. Specially because I have a bad immunity. So I might really fall sick and run out of sick leaves. I'd be candid and be very assertive as well.

How many days can you call in sick till it becomes sus. Seems like a silly strategy. Speak to your boss or just carry on as you are, dont feck around with telling lies, even if they are "beneficial" to the company, will always end up hurting you and only you in the end.

I did it once. I had a legit small fever, So I called in too sick to work in the office, but I could work from home. Still more productive from home.

I'm supposed to be in 100% but I'm way more productive from home. I want to go to a 3in/2out schedule and plan to discuss next year with the boss.

This whole week I've been out sick and have added more to the pipeline than usual because no one is walking into my office to ask silly questions or talk about nothing.

I have to have some time in the office to put out fires though, so I don't think I can ever go 100% WFH in this role.

Hell yeah I'd do this. Unfortunately, you can't do it too often or they'll catch on to what you're doing.

I have pulled this maneuver many times. Usually because 1) I'm hungover 2) it snowed that morning and I didn't want to scrape the car off.
