Camaraderie amongst the sales team

How does your company help build camaraderie amongst the sales team when you're limited to being 100% remote?

I love being remote but do miss the option of going to the office. We are 100% remote now and there is no line of sight for a in person get together. I have explained the need to those above me who hold the purse strings and get a hard NO. Occasionally a few members of the sales team will meet up at a tradeshow and we have a presidents club trip but otherwise we are limited to zoom, slack, text etc..

I miss the days of watching the teams busting peoples balls over deals slipping or laughing about some irate customer, it's just not the same remote.

They call me Daddy, Sales Daddy
I often wish there was an office I could go into 1 day/week or every other week. But then I think about how great it is to WFH and repent of that wish.

For every good thing there is about going into an office, I can name 5 bad things.

Let'em have their own meeting with no management. Create monthly incentive contests that have a specific slack channel for shit talking with no leadership. Post the contest board in another channel. Create team competitions with a draft. Winning team get's steak, losers get baby food. Give away gift cards as contest milestones. Make last place a $10 shit card. For guys, make it Victoria's Secret card for G Strings and remind them that the string goes in the back.
Point is: It's all on you to drive that culture. If every interaction is about metrics you'll never see it. Make it fun... or die.

Fully remote here, and honestly don't miss going into an office 99% of the time.
My colleagues know how to find me (Teams) and we find ways to connect.

Yes, well, not everyone works for a company large enough to have its own opium den.

I haven't been at a company where I really wanted to spend much time with people beyond what happens being remote in a LONG TIME.

In my twenties I think it was a bigger deal, but now I love time with my family and at home. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

Been remote for 5ish years. I do enjoy it as it makes the work/life balance easier (Less driving, easy to get chores done mid-day).

Our leadership has been good about making us feel included. Gift baskets at holiday season. Giving us green lights to do buy lunch and happy hours.

Honestly, the only thing I ask being remote is to just felt seen every now and then.

It can get lonely in these streets.

We used to do hh teams calls but a few people effed up and got fired so yea that’s done.
More than half my team is local to our headquarters so we get together onsite whenever we want but there’s always a few that don’t want to

in person team events are decent for it, you can never recreate the break room conversations and call floor banter of the office but just having time to hang out goes a long way
