Celebrating 1 year of no caffeine AND no panic attacks !

I love journaling and I mostly journal the important events, milestones and feelings. I also love going back to them sometimes.

so. January'22 was when I last had a small teeny tiny panic attack. That also is the month when I stopped caffeine intake completely.

I think certain bodies are just not meant for caffeine. Ever since I stopped, WORLD HAS BEEN A BETTER PLACEEE ! I no longer worry too much about things. I still worry, but not to the extent of landing myself into a muddle.

cutting down caffeine completely has been one of the best decisions of my life that I am still sticking to.

What's the one thing that you changed, and that had a mammoth impact on your life?
♥️ Love

I’m in your same boat. I LOVE coffee. And if I’m going to have a vice, that’s the one I pick!

I've been walking 10k steps everyday since Feb of 22'. I listen to podcasts, audio books, meditations and positive affirmations while doing so.

I break it up to two walks a day of roughly 5k steps each. It's something I look forward to everyday. It's been a game changer when it comes to stress and getting out of my head. Next move is to cut out edibles and weed since I feel they no longer benefit me.

I applaud you for the caffeine since I'm a straight up fiend when it comes to caffeine Lmao

Good on you, still working on that myself. I had 10k average steps per day as a goal for '22 and beyond also that didn't quite pan out.

On the right track though as I hit my highest average, so going in the right direction and including 30-60 minute runs to get there more easily.

I have a garmin that I've set a custom goal to and buzzez my wrist to get up and move. I'm sure you could do the same with an apple watch, but just having a reminder to get up and move is the first step imo.

Biggest life changing decision was to stop drinking. Sobriety is by far the biggest difference maker in my life, and to my health, and outlook.

While I refuse to give up caffeine personally, I’m really glad it’s working well for you. Congratulations!

I did a dry experiment for 3 days. I stopped caffeine and my anxiety levels were manageable and so normal. I didn’t have (what I called) high pulse !

I instantly liked my pulse rate Normal and stopped caffeine just immediately. 😂

I had withdrawal symptoms- SLEEP A LOT.

Congrats! I'm all for people figuring out what isn't serving them well and cutting it out. I cut out alcohol 197 days ago, next will be to drastically cut back on sugar.

The most interesting effect no alcohol has had on me is that my baseline stress level has dropped dramatically and also my bouts with depression are pretty much gone. Life is just easier to deal with. Apparently drinking regularly (even only 2-4 drinks per week) makes your body produce more cortisol (the hormone that increases stress levels) when you're not drinking and increases your baseline stress level.

Not trying to get preachy, but it's been an incredible change that I'd recommend anyone with high stress, anxiety or depression try. The first 3 months sucked balls, and I only started to feel better around 6 months. So it's not a quick fix, but for me personally, it's definitely been worth it and I'm not going back.

Wow, that’s crazy, happy for you and congrats.

I love caffeine and think it does wonders for me but glad you saw it wasn’t for you and were able to fix the issue.

Keep it up.

Really cool! Was it simply removing caffeine that led to those benefits? Or did you start mediating or anything similar to that?

Caffeine is 100% a drug and there’s really interesting studies about how it affects the brain. That said I only drink it cold and I do so because I enjoy the taste. Congrats to you though for being able to give it up and improve mentally.

If you think that's good, try the Wim Hof method for dealing with anxiety (google it).

Congrats! Cutting out gluten and sticking to a "hunter/gatherer" type diet (meat, berries/fruit, and some carbs (rice and potatoes) has done wonders for me.
