Cold Texting - Working?

My new manager is really pushing cold texting - he's a huge fan. And it has been working well for the SDR team. I know most of you hate the cold text and it's probably illegal but what are your thoughts if its been working?

We get "Stop" or "Not interested" occasionally but no crazy pissed off prospects. Most of it is fun banter or just ignored. Actually had a guy call me after sending a text to book a meeting yesterday.

Very curious what your cold outbound texts look like

Iโ€™m interested in this as well. With how poor most DMs Iโ€™ve seen are, these would have to be significantly better to not be annoying.

Yea - worked really well for me situationally. Pretty good when a prospect is somewhere where they are checking their phone constantly, like an event or trade show. They also work well if you've built up familiarity with the prospect IMO.

Cold texting seems a tad unprofessional to me, but I'm sure there are ways to swing it that work. Personally would prefer to cold call but hey, if it works (as it seems it does from your post), then who cares.

Part of a healthy prospecting diet. They get read.

Do you read or respond to cold texts trying to get you to buy something? I know I do not, and a cold text from a company pretty much puts them in a "never use these guys" status with me.

All depends on what it says. I recently bought car insurance while sitting on the terlet. Why? The text knew my policy was about to expire, what my current premium was and showed me the savings to the penny that I would get if I switched.

Yes. Some prospects prefer text. Had entire 5-6 figure deals done via text (outside of contract being signed of course).

Never bad if being used wisely.
Gotta be short/specific/only to be sent once unless the prospect is interested!

I hate doing it alone. However, with an email, I love it. It tends to work well with a LinkedIn inmail as well

I think that and just using Teams sometimes if it is allowed. I think not all reps have phones where they can text from so yeah it works

Have never used it before but I'm interested to hear how this has worked/what the results are.

Very effective if done right. Sounds like youโ€™re doing it the right way so keep it up.

Isnโ€™t this illegal without asking first?

might be a gray area if you're texting 1:1 instead of using a platform to do a blast to a whole list

I would NEVER do that. And I hate it when people do that to me.

I call cell phones and leave voicemails. Texting is the next logical step. Several of my existing deals text me when they have questions. I donโ€™t see any issue here.
